Ok will I want to just remove the lip that has just the holes to hold the splash shield in the inner fender. But I was wondering if it would affect the fender and make it rattle since I'm assuming the fender went tight against it. I need some help or advice since the lip is rotten in some areas.

Can I just ask WHY you want to remove that flange??
That flange is the pinchweld joint of the firewall to the hinge pillar. Those are structural parts of the car.
If anything, you'd probably want to repair those areas instead of cutting them off. Yikes!  :o

Ya I know it's just the Runner has rust issues in that whole area and parts I've never seen rusted so I've been kinda ticked off that I didn't see it before I bought it  :brickwall:.

Youre in Iowa right?  I may have a parts car you could get that section from.  I cant remember what I have left that isnt chopped up to be honest...  but if nothing else, I have a 73 Charger shell I plan to sell off this summer.
