I have my original tuff wheel from my first car(73 ralley) and I want to put it in my current car(73se). Will I need the adapter for that?

stwheels

Yep, you'll need the smooth sided adapter like this.

Thanks. Do you have one? How much?

plumbeeper

I have plenty of those adapters, $50.00 each. Includes the nuts and free Priority Mail shipping in the USA. Let me know if you need one, I can ship it out Monday.

Oh, that's a good price!

Sir, do you have or know where to get the horn switch? I got my tuff wheel (grant) installed but original horn switch was mounted on the spokes, will not work

stwheels

Pull the horn cap off and take a shot of the horn mechanism for us to peruse.

That's the problem, nothing there. I replaced the factory wheel that had the contacts at the end of the spokes, I don't have a referace for the tuff wheel horn.

stwheels

Gotcha !   A little bubble gum to hold the cap on eh?  LOL

Here is a picture of what you need under that cap so you have a horn. The wheel in the picture is a custom that I'm building for a customer that uses the spokes/hub from a Tuff wheel and is welded onto a rim from a Buick Opel GT. It will look like a rim blow wheel when it's done but the rim only measures 13 3/4" across. I'll modify a Dodge Rim Blow center cap to work with the Tuff wheel horn.

What you need to do is find a Tuff wheel horn then drill and tap the 3 mounting holes on your wheel. Then it's just a matter of screwing it down hooking up the power wire, slap on the cap and off you go. Hope that helps !

Nacho we're hijacking this thread!...but since we're here the e-bay account is under her name so if I tried to 'rememeber" it it would go to her address, not mine.

...no big deal though, she bought it for me already  ;D

LOL, just a couple of post out of topic... there is still some play around... it calls TOLERANCES LOL

Ok, got the adapter today(Thanks David Tayes). I just put a couple quick coats of black on it. Any tips on removing the old wheel? I got the puller already. I'm just concerned about popping of the plastic center piece. I don't want to break anything. On the tuff wheel either. Thnx

73chgrSE

Well, that was easy and quick. Now it looks much better than the SE wheel I had.

plumbeeper

Glad to help. Post some pics of it if you get a chance. We love to see pics.
