70 Dodge Charger 500 with everything you need to complete.  It can run if I hook up the battery.  New..Legendary interior..seats, carpet.  New full floors installed (welded and seam sealed).  This car could easily be worth high 20's with some finishing restorations.

Serious Interest Only..NO TRADES THANKS.

I sent an email to this guy, he has got to be the most arrogant person i've ever inquired about a car, what a total dead beat seller.  I've asked him several questions about the car, typical stuff that should be in the add; such as motor/trans/rear/condition/millage/history/owners, ect....just your basic stuff.  Turns out it's got a 400 motor, and he keeps going on about how $4000 worth of parts is included but can't tell me more than it includes a legendary interior.  He's quite rude in just the few emails we've exchanged.  Plus he sent me pics, of which i can see that basically nothing is original, all the body panels are different colors, and his "patch" panels would for sure have to be re-done properly.  WHAT A PIECE OF JUNK; not a $15000 car by far, another dreamer.  just thought i'd give the heads up, this guy is an a$$.   :yesnod: :Twocents:   He also never did give any specs on the car, and emailed me that this car could easily be a driver with paint.  Then i look at the pics, leaking rad, all apart, and in really rough shape.....

Funny the way he states "It'll run if i hook up the Battery", what kind of Nimrod would put that in an ad?..
then the bit about with some restoration it'll be worth $ 20K

"This car could easily be worth high 20's with some finishing restorations."  That's a real zinger there,..
well ya' got to check these things out... no harm in trying...
Thanks for the heads up..  you just saved a buncha' guys alot of effort...

no problem.  I would post his emails in which he basically insults me in every email, but i think i said enough to warn anyone that this car is a total piece of crap.  I have pics, and it needs a full resto, and what patch work he did (floors/trunk/doors) is really bad.......it was a very rusty car to start with, the rad support is b5 blue, the hood is black, one fender is sublime, one is bllue, car was green, looks like a total rust bucket to start with, and he just put crap dented rusty panels on the car to make it "complete" and "almost a driver with very little effort".  what an idiot.  what really gets me is i am actually seriously interested in the car, sounded good in the description, then i saw the pics......then to top it all off he rude to me, being a buyer, i don't get it...... :RantExplode:

Chris G.

I sent the guy a simple and polite email. I will let you know how he replies.

ps- That's a 5K car tops...and that's being extremely nice.  :Twocents:

that's exactly what i did, i just politely asked for some more info on the car....he just responded with a short email that really did'nt help, it was like pulling teeth that the car had a 400 motor in it, ect.....i asked him to stop sending me emails, and he just keeps going, i can't post the email here because of the language he used, but let me tell you, i've been polite every step of the way.  I was emailing him back and fourth, and he never really answered any of my questions, i keep asking them, then i tell him i think his asking price is too high for the car....he says he got offered $12500 without the $4000 worth of "parts", and did'nt even answer any of my questions, so i ask again, a few basic questions, he replies with the same crap, then sends another email with a one word answer to my questions.
SO then i go to work, and he keeps emailing me "Hey Martin...you were in such a big hurry to get all the stuff you wanted..then you just drop off the face of the planet.  SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY. Thanks for the run around."  like i'm waiting next to my pc for his royal reply.   what an ass.  I'd expect that i'd get simple answers to my questions, which should be included in any car for sale......or is it just me?

How do people SELLING a car possibly act like this to potential buyers????   :flame:   :popcrn:

My emails:  (Keep in mind the original add had no pics or contact info, you could only email thru the listing, like on craiglist)

ME:
any more info? pics?

thanks

HIM:
Ask the questions and I will answer them.  No photos available to put in computer.

ME:
Miles? Condition? Where are you located? How many owners? How long you had it? Color in/out? Original drive train? What documentation do you have (fender tag, build sheet....ect...)?

HIM:
Condition is "solid" needs some body work and then paint.  Big block car as per VIN..has fender tag and build sheet.  Green on green.  With not to much effort this car can be put on the road and driven.

ME:
Can you send me some more pics?  Are you flexible on the price?

HIM:
Martin..  I live less then an hour from Mississauga.  If you are serious come and see the car.  As for being flexible on the price...sure I will take more then the asking price.

*after sending pics 2 mins later i get this:

HIM:
Hey Martin...you were in such a big hurry to get all the stuff you wanted..then you just drop off the face of the planet.  SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY.

Thanks for the run around.

ME:
I had to go to work.  No run around at all.  I like the car, it's a very nice car, but needs a resto, paint, mechanical, ect....it's a non numbers wrong motor (a charger never came with a 400ci motor).  Price is a little high, you told me you got a offer for $12500, I'd take that offer.  Let me know if your price comes down, as it is now, I think we are too far apart.

HIM:
You want a cheap car..go to the reserve and get one full of bullet holes.  There is over $4,000 in extra parts one being a performance built .30 over 383 dated Nov. 1969...the same month that this car was built.  If your looking for numbers matching..I think there was one on Barrett-Jackson for $185,000.

I'm not interested in "tire kickers".

Thanks for your interest.

ME:
I don't want a cheep car, I'm looking for a "fairly priced" car....you have not as of yet told me what you have that's "$4000 of parts", and this is the first I'm hearing about the 383 motor.  If your selling a car, it's quite wise to voice all the specifications on the car, what parts you have, ect.....Listen buddy, your selling a car here, not doing me a favor, quite honestly your attitude sucks.  I'll give you a few pointers, don't insult your potential buyers.  I'm a 100% serious buyer, with cash, and quite honestly out of principal I think you should find someone else to insult who's interested in buying YOUR car.

HIM:
Thanks for the lesson.  Tire kickers are a dime a dozen...You have not shown money or made any offer...so cash talks...bullshit walks.  Your a big boy you figure out which you are.

ME:
You have got to be the worst seller I've encountered, congrats.  Your selling a car to which you won't give or take the time to even accurately tell a interested buyer even what you've got.  I'm very active in the mopar community, I'll go out of my way to let everyone what a deadbeat seller you are..........BYE, do me a favor, and stop emailing me.....

After this it gets really ugly, on his part......
there's both sides of the story  :eek2:

chargerkid01

trust me you are not at fault!! I was 16 when I bought my 69 charger three years ago and I hounded the guy with questions about the car I may have pissed him off but when you are that young and $2500 is alot of money. To tell you the truth I wouldn't worry about it thanks for the warning though. Everyone watch next thing you know that guy will either advertise it here or on ebay WE SHOULD PROTEST HIM LOL

Here Are some pics of mine before It got stripped ad the shell got al new metal and primed!!
