I was just wondering was there a time when you considered your charger a daily driver??? Is there anyone who uses their charger every day? Just kinda curious???  :shruggy:  I wish I could drive mine everyday but Philadelphia has small streets and alot of a-holes who would leave scratches everywhere!   :icon_smile_blackeye:

I would not as a daily driver,  I have what I call my run around vehicle, (1999 ols bravada ok ok laugh it up)  But that thing has more door dings, scratches, HECK I had a lady drving a Caddy back into it while I was at work......  I look at it this way.  I would have spent $3000 to fix all the carp people do in parking lots.....

I've driven my charger as a daily driver, about 5-6 years ago, but only because my other car was messed up. its a pain having to park miles away from everything to not have someone park next to you, then about 98 times out of 100 some guy still parks his pos honda next to you.

Can't remember all the dates exactly, but I know I was still daily-driving my '69 as late as 1998-99.  Including driving it in the rain and snow.

Same here. I drove a 1970 Charger for about 10 years straight from age 17-27.

not with the gas prices and there's way too many potholes right now and city does not fix them. Basically you're on your own if you damage your car driving here right now, city wont pay for it. Suspension parts for Charger are rather expensive.

Classic Dodge Chargers are not daily drivers anymore. Too many dumb as drivers and inconsiderate jerks out there. The only place I will park mine and walk away from it is at car shows. If your Charger is not " show quality" then restore it or sell it. Don't let some a' hole ruin it for you.

What's wrong with having a charger that isn't show quality. Mine isn't and I'm perfectly fine with it.

In the area where I work I hardly see a new car or a nice car without a terrible deep long scratch on it.  Ya see, it has become real popular among the little hoodrats here to do what they call initiating new cars.  It's become so popular they have moved on from not only new, but anything that looks real nice. Of course to initiate a car means to put a big deep scratch from fender to the end of the quarter. they usually use a key or a sharp nail and mess it up good.
About a month ago I went to assist in a foot chase and left my new just put into service patrol unit parked unattended, and you guessed it! One of the little bastards got it and put a deep scratch down the right quarter and wrapped around the whole deck lid. Pissed me off to no end!  I turned it into the motor transportation dept. and they told me it's just cosmetic and they can't do anything for it.  I was so upset over it a friend at our fire dept. that owns a bodyshop had one of his guys fix it for no charge .
This is why I try to never park or leave either of my chargers, or my 57 BelAir unattended for any length of time. You can believe if I go anywhere near where I work, I only take the county car and not even my pick-up truck.

I didn't mean there was anything wrong with having a Charger that was not show quality. My point was to use one as a daily driver is inviting disaster. You park a daily driver to go to work, go shopping, to run errands and in general don't think about leaving it unattended for long periods of time. If you do this with a classic car like a Dodge Charger it will draw attention that could result in something happening that you will regret later. My point was to protect your investment no matter it's value.

I don't use my Charger as a daily driver, but there are plenty of times that we have driven the car to the grocery store in the summer time and just leave it parked out in the parking lot. Heck drove it to the mall last summer to do some shopping. People love seeing these old cars out on the road, and driving around. People would rather see it driving somewhere rather than being on/in a trailer and never on the road.
