Nice looking car. But I think he is fishing with the wrong bait on the hook with a buy it now of $285K in todays economy and market. I do like the way that Daytona's look though with the Kelsey Hayes wheels on them, even though they never were offered that way.

Oh and I'll pool my money but you'll need about 4,000 other people with similar amounts of money as me to reach the BIN price.

The owner also had written into MCG in the last issue. It was actually registered as a 1970 Daytona when new. So there were actually 1970 Daytonas after all :yesnod: :smilielol:

Oh there are plenty of other places that the idea of a 1970 Daytona came from, other than that one. There have been rumors of 3 1970 Daytona since 1975 as far as I can tell. Possibly even earlier than that.

Definately is a nice car though. Personally I prefer R4, V2, B5 and Q5 over the F6 I wouldn't kick it out of my garage just because its green.

daytonalo

For 285 k you would think the inner Qtr panel trunk area would be painted body color . The fender scoop fits horrible . Just my opinion.  For 285 k  makes you think that when the small , basic, obvious stuff is overlooked , what else is far from right ! Go ahead guy's , yell at me !!! :icon_smile_big:

At the moment, with the Canadian dollar trading at par with the US dollar, the economy here in Canada is doing very well.  As with most e-bay ads for the high dollar collector cars, I suspect the owners is simple dipping his toe into the water to check the temperature.  It'll sell sooner or later and we'll most likely never know when, to whom and for how much.

Maybe not right away but it never fails to amaze me how few secrets there are in the wing car world.

Wait, did I just read that someone knows where an NOS set of W23 wheels are? WHERE AND HOW MUCH? Not that my car needs them, but I do know 3 Charger 500 owners that their cars are coded for them, and they don't have the wheels. Dave, PM me please.

The repos are from Speciality Wheel. And look fine to me.For years I had 1 rim and never found 3 more. Now for $2000,00 you can score a set

Did you say $20K for a set of NOS? I don't think the people I know would be looking at them in that price range. Then again I can't ever tell.

$2,000 for set of new ones.

69_500

Ah now for $2,000 for an NOS set I know my buddy would be interested. Who has the contact information?

hemigeno

I seriously doubt it's $2k for a complete NOS set of W23 wheels & accessories.  There was a set of wheels-only at Carlisle a couple of years ago for something like $5k, but that did not have the trim rings, center caps or lug nuts (which are all specific to those wheels).

:shruggy:

69_500

The last complete set of W23 that I saw for sale was $2,800 and 2 of the wheels need some work to be useable. And no they didn't come with the trim rings, or the lug nuts.

nascarxx29

I sold my NOS recall lugs to XXHEMI for a W23 equipped 69 RT coronet.I suppose the repo lugs will work with original wheels
.And around here I got a copy of a buildsheet I sent GG awhile back for a 69 charger that had the W23 on the fender tag.I know the hemi charger 500s had those wheels swapped out for the 69 polara wheel covers. Not to many other cars I know of were equpped with these wheels

I have a road test on a C-body that is equipped with those wheels.

I'd be pretty shocked if that sale turned out to be legit.  It could be true, but the buyer has received a whopping 6 feedbacks - and had not put in a single bid on the car up to that point.  The bids went from 200k to $284k with no one pushing the bidder?

Something smells fishy  :shruggy:  :popcrn:
