Could someone please tell me the factory correct location for the jack instructions to be placed on the underside of the trunk lid on a '68 Charger.  I haven't found an original picture that shows this location, and I've seen the decal placed at 4 different locations on restored vehicles.  If someone has an original, unrestored car, please tell me the correct location.   Also, did the sure grip & Dana 60 cars in '68 have the small warning sticker placed under the trunk lid like some of the other Mopars?   Thanks for your help...Brian

Although there is likely a factory released engineering drawing somewhere which specified the location of the jack decal, I can pretty much promise you that the guys on the line just stuck where it was easiest.
I may be wrong but having worked on auto assembly lines, you'd have to have an incredibly anal inspector and/or supervisor to worry about jack decal placement.  It would be WAAAAAAAY down the priority list of production.  Pump 'em out first get the details later.  Especially in the 60's.
That said, most of the ones I have seen in original cars have been on the left side of the decklid and the Sure Grip warning decals I have seen were just to the right of it.
But seriously, pretend you are on the line and stick wherever you want and if someone says it's wrong, challenge them to prove it.

This is where most of the 68's I have seen over the years were put, including every 68 I have had.
Sometimes they are on the right side of the trunk lid as well.

Generally they are on the side where the jack would be located in the trunk

Mine's on the left as well...that's where it is in all the original advertisements/literature that I've seen anyway.

As stated above, they just slaped them on.Figure you are on the line and running around trying to get a bunch of stuff taken care of.You aren't going to care where that sticker goes. Most of them weren't even put on straight.

Oddly enough, on the 70 Chargers they were more often than not found on the right (passenger) side. Sometimes in the middle as well and of course sometimes on the left side. I agree that the line worker just slapped them on wherever, which leads me to suspect the 70 assembly line had the decals/worker on the passenger side of the line.

Anyone ever seen that "Jacking Instructions fo 'Sure-Grip' Differential" decal on any charger ever?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&sspagename=ADME%3AB%3AEOIBSAA%3AUS%3A11&viewitem=&item=290173686235

If so, where was it placed? I'm assuming adjacent to the regualar Jacking instructions decal right?

Just curious.

Never mind,
Figured it out-
Sure-grip jacking instructions # 2750652: in glove box-use on cars OTHER than super stock never actually confirmed

Boy those cars above had to be put on after the car was redone . They are placed wayyyy too neatly and no wrinkles either .

This decal is supposed to be located on the left side, closest to the jack mounting location, of the trunk lid. In most cases this is where you will find it but not always. This is for the 2nd. gen cars.
