Ok class, homework for the day. Go up to the top of the page and use the "Search" to find more information. Really, try it! Somewhere you'll find that this car belongs to another member. You'll also learn the entire history of the car if you look hard enough.

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

yea I love it this way. Much better that orig {except $ wise now days} with all the pepole wanting Chargers for the $ instead of the love for them. I bought this car from orig owner as he was selling the engine in early 80s and hauling the car to scrap yard as it was not worth anything then. He wanted $500. for it complete or $25.00 for body only. I originally only built it to run in the woods but it drove to good so I use it for both for many years. If I had it too do over yes I would have bought it complete and sold it a year or so ago but that would have been for the 4 not the love of the car. I love the car this way. If you get stuck in the snow just let me know I can pull you out in my 69 charger  :smilielol:

Look at where the shifter is in relation to the driver....

I personally would not do that to a Charger, but I think Its cool that the owner (sunroofsuperbird) did. He made the car his own long before it became "In-vogue" To be a Charger owner.  :2thumbs:
68 Charger R/t white with black v/t and red tailstripe. 440 4 speed ,black interior

IMO
I think it's (they're) cool... NOW that's what I call a General Lee!!
IMO
I think you'd have to admire anyone who can construct and maintain such a fleet of modified cars and they're drivers, he has fun building and driving them... I think they're alot more fun then some of the trailor/garage queens that might win awards when rolled off the ramp or if ever finished...
Hell I even like his posts, they're really funny! Im glad your in it for the fun and not the 4.  :2thumbs:

Allways have loved the Chally station wagon since i first saw in in a magazine in the '80s...

IMO

No offense, but if you "love" the car that way, and are not in it for the money, then why is it on ebay all the time? Also, I question why you even have these auctions. It's obvious it will never sell for the 55K you have listed. Are you just listing it so you get a reaction out of people, or do you really want to sell? :shruggy:

Once again Marty's talent is unappreciated. I learned, especially from being on line here, negative response to another members car just isn't cool. The Challenger wagon, if I had the cash, I'd buy it. No, I don't like the DOH charger color scheme what so ever, its ridiculous IMO. But nothing a paint job couldn't take care of. For those of you that are building a DOH clone, think about it for a second, like your all high and mighty. The guy just built a very large house, maybe thats a reason for the cars being up for sale. They are not always on ebay either like stated, gees people.

Daddy ran whiskey in a big black dodge
bought it at an auction at the masons lodge,
Johnson County Sherriff painted on the side,
just shot a coat of primer then he looked inside,
well him and my uncle tore that engine down,
I still remember that rumblin' sound.....

To each his own.  I'd rather see a Charger on 4x4 wheels and surviving.

Sure beats seeing it rotting away in some redneck's yard for 15 years with a Barrett-Jackson price written on the windshield.

True, as this one was on its way to the scrap yard, it very well could have been melted down and be driving around as a Honda or other.   HOWEVER, it still survives.  It is his car do do what he wishes to......people get so worrried what people do to their own cars.......I think its just fine like it is.

Marty is a good guy and was more than happy to let me check out his stable of cool rides when I bought a '70 charger hood from him. You can criticize the car all you want but the funny thing is that Id much rather see it like that than rusting or rotting away. I hear people that say things like that all the time- "Like I'd never done the car that way" . Well 9 times out of 10 people like that dont know the story behind the car. Sometimes different routes are taken on the cars because they are to far gone for restoration.  At least Marty's GL doesnt look like everyone elses  :nana:  It's good for everyone to have an opinion, but I thought we were here to enjoy each others cars not diss them...I'd drive the hell out of it!
"Remember when I said this car was death proof? Well that wasnt' a lie-this car is 100%death proof- only to get the benefit of it honey you really need to be sitting in my seat"...

Sunroofsuperbird saved that car from the crusher. If I remember correctly, the frame or something was rusty. I'd rather see it turned into a 4X4 then be crushed :Twocents:

It's true that a members car should not be dissed simply because another person doesn't like it. However, this particular car is on ebay, which to me, makes it open to whatever opinions anyone feels like having. If I put my car on ebay, I would expect people to give me their honest opinions (good or bad).  :Twocents:

I drank a few beers with Marty at Carlisle two years ago. He had his chally wagon. Great guy and very cool car.
With the winter we're having up here that 4x4 General would be the bomb. I'd love to pull up to a stop light next to a ricer with that sporting side pipes and electric exhaust cut outs.

Hey, you can hate the game but don't hate the player.

69charger2002

i don't mind the general lee 4x4 one bit. call me crazy, but i would drive that thing around here and never think twice. the $55k is kind of funny, but hey it was $1 listing day, and did anybody see their "promotional" ending fees? it's $109 ending.. which makes selling a car $20 higher than it normally would.. some special huh? so it only makes sense to list cars on ebay for exposure for that "just in case" instance.. while at the same time.. if it DOES sell, you make sure you get something crazy for it to make it worth while

You guys say what you want. I love it :2thumbs: You guys should remember seeing a lot of 4x4 cars back in the '80s. I did. Mustangs, Monte Carlos, Camaros, a friend even had a '68 GTO 4x4. It's not something you would wanna do today. But back then, they were only 10-15 year old cars.

BTW - Travis, you own enough beater Chargers to make one of your own :D

I like it :2thumbs:  I've got a 68 Charger in the barn that came REALLY close to becoming a 4X4 a couple of times, both times the deal on the donor 4X4 truck fell through.  I might STILL do it if a donor truck turns up  :nana:

Might use my rusty '70 500 SE instead of the '68  :scratchchin:

69charger2002

look at it this way, if you use the 70 you won't need a push bar.. that ugly large mouth bass chrome bumper should suffice! and the SE interior will still make it nice and comfy

Travis, Actually, the '70 has already sacrificed it's fenders and hood for my Daytona clone, and the Large mouth bass bumper/grill assembly was already MIA when I dragged this POS home.  I was thinking one-piece fiberglass '69 tilt front end on the 4X4 :2thumbs:

It'll make for much easier spark plug changes  :nana:

That's really odd coming from you Trav. I would think the nicest Charger you own is the black '70.  :shruggy: Maybe I'm just too narrow minded to see the other cars you have.  ;)

69charger2002

lol yep it probably is my nicest car. and i'm poking humor anyway. everyone knows i love all 68-70 chargers, the 70 is just my least favorite. that 70 is the "wife's car" i give her hell about the bumper too. you're not narrow minded at all. i just like ruffling feathers once in a while. i agree no members car should be put down. you can make fun of characteristics, years or models, but to put down on someone's personal tastes isn't right. lots of times i want to throw up when i see what certain members do to their cars, but i will try and say.. ehh i wouldn't do that to my car, but to each his own. i know you're the same way chris.  you know you like my 69's better anyway.. the black 70 is just fresh on your mind..  :nana:
