Doug Lepak a.k.a. The Steering Wheel Guy, out of AB also does them - and does an excellent job I might add.

I've seen some photos of his work and I have plans on sending mine to him.

He is a member here.

A nice fellow also.  He took the time to explain exactly how he does it etc.

Doug has done three steering wheels for me.
Now the problem is: each of them are so nice, I hesitate to install them on my various vehicles...because it'll make my cars look like shit in comparison!!!

One is a "custom" job - a woodgrain sport wheel for my Charger R/T, but without the woodgrain. I wanted the rim in black, with the chrome band, seeing as how there's no other woodgrain in my Charger's interior. So it got done, and wonderfully I might add!
The second is the "yoke" style wheel for my Deora. It was originally out of a 1966 Olds Tornado, but customized in the exact manner of the original in the Alexander Brother's show truck. When I bought it off of Ebay, it was a real mess. Now it's beyond beautiful.
Third, was a rimblow wheel, the kind that goes on 71-up B bodies, or E-body cars. It was an absolute write off. I gave it to Doug, and when I got it back it was absolutely perfect. It looks brand new!
So needless to say, I am one very satisfied customer!!

Awwww now you made me blush !! Thanks for the referral Shakey  :2thumbs: and Robin  :2thumbs:.  Rob, finish the rest of your cars so you can actually use those wheels !!  :yesnod: and I get the first ride in the Deora (if I can beat Anna in an arm wrestle)

I posted a series of photos back on the following thread if anyone would like to see the process I use and the finished product. http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,36526.0.html

I can repair any Plastic, Hard Rubber or Bakelite wheels. Any color/colors, wood grain, flame jobs ... what ever you can think of. I also can customize wheels (no I won't weld a chains to make a rim  :eek2:) but I can make your wheel rim smaller, add trim clips change the shape and thickness of the rim or spokes etc ... think up something wild and I'll make it a reality. Any wheel can be made into a wood grain wheel and any wood grain wheel can be painted any color/colors. Wait till you see what I'm doing with Quikfishes (Lindy) rim blow wheel for his Cuda!

You can e-mail me at stwheels@shaw.ca or post here and I'll try to answer any questions you might have.

I also make hats , check out my latest design.

Here is a link to some of Rod's work:  http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,14855.0.html

Great for daily drivers not wanting to spend big $$$ for a Mopar Nat's winning resto, but wanting a nice appearing and good quality woodgrain steering wheel.   99% of people wouldn't know the minute differences from Rod's work and a show winner.

*"Build the biggest engine you can afford the first time."
*"We normally wouldn't use a 383 for this build, parts and labor for a 440 cost the same."
