I am going to have my car in for some rust repairs soon and would like to purchase a trunk extension...most these parts are plain crap in the past something you could easily bend up yourself....here's an example ...http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=010&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=200197666600&rd=1

but now I see some others available...look very nice

Seller won't ship to Canada though.. :brickwall: ..this happens alot and sucks...that and some kick  :moon: brokerage fees that can be involved.....makes it yet more frustrating to get parts for these 3rd gens...
I see .... http://www.crosscanadaparts.com/cgi-bin/crosscanada/product_list.html?img_num=172 .....is now offering exclusive 71-2 extensions now as well...no pics...hopefully similar to the previous link....I will try to call for a better description this week with my fingers crossed.. :2thumbs:

Anyone have any input as to these or other possible products...thx.

neither one or the other are exactly, however the "shiny" ones look more accurate, just need to get the right straight bent, instead the curve when fold down to meet with quarter.

Now, as far I know 71/74 should it be the same, not just 71/72

Those shiny ones certainly look to have more potential. Contours on the top, drain plug hole, it all looks to be there.

Those other ones (not shiny, CrossCanada/Sherman) are probably there for the same reason I still have one sitting in my garage. :)

Well...i've got one on route....Comin' from Cross Canada outa Winsor Ont. ....spoke with the gal Mon. morning and she wasn't sure on the differences between the two styles so I had her phone and ask if the extension had a drain hole plug cutout in it.....she confirmed with a yes so I had her ship it to me...last one in Canada she said...OMG...I'll likely cut off the front section on it to use...I peeled out the seam sealer and the trunk rusted overnight.. :o ..now I can finally cut off what's left of a previous trailer hitch....first time going to a body shop ever for this beast....

Hey Nacho...71-2 trunks do have this drop portion on the forword section of the extension panel...my existing looks just like the eBay pics...I think these are the differences between the two besides the poor quality and the lack of a hole plug for those that have been currently offered as 73-4 parts....

my 74 is exactly the same ( or it was LOL ). Well, still have one side somekind patched at very low of the extension but keeping the shape and drain hole. The other side is a plain curved one, home made.

Well as usual my plan didn't work...got a call from Crosscanada two weeks after ordering and the stock shipment evidently came in with no extension panel....they claim it couldn't be found in the store back east... :brickwall: ...so I ordered one through Dante as he ships via USPS and to Canada...excellent service and fast delivery....very happy with the part quality and it arrived with no duty applied from the border crossing  :D this happens sometimes...hopefull go to the putty shop soon now..
