will a edelbrock torker 340 intake work on a 318

i bought a older used edelbrock torker340 intake, will it work on my stock 318 ????, the new torker II models wont fit on a 318, did i waist my money on this intake???

It will bolt up to the 318 heads but there will be a port mismatch because the 340 intake port is bigger than the 318.

Sure....but it's not the ideal setup on a stock 318 due to the single plane design and the intake port mismatch.  :Twocents:

Down here from 70 to 72 2 doors B bodies were assemblied 318s with 4 bbls, I think using 340 manifolds

:iagree:  the port mismatch will actually fight against your flow of air/fuel into the chamber.. not very efficient at most.

than y do they make intakes for 'small block mopar' not 318 or 340

the smallblock mopar gasket matches my intake

i havent pulled the old intake off yet cause it has been real cold lately and i dont want of freeze. but when i bought the intake gaskets i bought them 4 a 318 and it matches all the ports on my 340 intake, the parts guy said that gasket is the same 4 318-360 so ??????

Something sounds fishy....a 340/360 uses bigger intake ports than the 273/318.  :scratchchin:

Are you sure that the manifold is for a 340 ?  :P

If that's the case then the gaskets that you purchased are 340-360 gaskets....not the smaller 273-318 gaskets.  :Twocents:

.......................By using a torker on a 318 u will lose so much low end that it will b pretty sad off the line and have poor driveability..........use it as a paper weight......kim.......
