i have some work to do to the mold to spruce it up ,but i want to start working on it in the spring.i have a 73 se and i will build one for my car. want to try to make them bolt on or lift off. just curious what everybody thinks about that  :scratchchin:

There is a huge demand for bulge hoods!  I dont know how many people will want one in fiberglass but i'm sure you will get some feedback on the idea.  I paid out the ass for my steel hood but im happy with it.   :2thumbs:

Oh and welcome to the site.

mikesbbody

as matt said, there is a huge denmand and there are only so many to go around. There are 2 companies i know of who do bulge hoods in fiberglass. Dont let this stop you doing it. fiberglass is the next best thing to steel and people wont mind if they need a bulge hood. :Twocents:

If you can beat the price of the other 2 companies , I would be interested.  :yesnod:

Would like to see how it comes out. But i can guarantee whoever starts making metal repos and selling them for a fair price will def make some money, the demand is very high...i even want one myself but just cant afford it right now.

But that's the problem . The used ones are at insane prices . Someone repops them and the price doubles . Then the used ones take a price hike too . It's ONLY a hood .

what kind of money are we talking about from other companies? if i remember right i have seen them bolt on for about $500. i want make my first one for my car come spring so we'll see how it goes

purple charger

If you make them remember, 71-72 have the most louvers , 73 fewer and 74 has none
As for valances place in Canada that makes the rear valance.  If you need a plain Jane converted I charge a fair price.

VFN has a bolt on for $380

any way to save weight on my car i'm there. also i think alot of people would like bolt on hoods since alot are driven on the street  :Twocents:

r73mopar

the valance is an easy part to make but i need a good one to make a mold from. i thought my was nice until i blasted all the old paint off and found to be full of bondo and that it wasnt straight!!

r73mopar

i justed looked at vfnfiberglass.com at buldge hoods ,well i'll tell ya buy them. awsome hood for glass no way i can beat that for $380. i cant replicate the undersidenlike they can, at least not doing it at home. i will probable end up buying mine from them instead

hemihead

You can still make the rear valance ( if you can find one to make a mold ) . I know there is a market for those . Used to be a guy that made them , but he quit .

if you build one that will fit a 73 and clear my 440 I will buy it.  I need to drop about 200lbs from my car and I dont plan on cutting back on cheese burgers and Nachos.

The dude I bought the car from had cut out the hood so I put on a cowl till I could find a correct hood to fit it.

Check the link above, I think he will do more for +/- $150 ea, but a minimum of 10.
Contact him to be sure, then start a new thread for a "group-buy"...
