Dirty/Crazy on Fox Movie Channel Feb 20 and March 8.  Wonder if it's the theatrical version, or TV version....
Whether or not I'm good at English is inimportant!

Were the differences between the two cuts major?

Or just the typical minor cussword-chopping stuff?

Kind of a related subject, but i could have sworn that back in the late 70's/early 80's when DMCL was being rerun on TV, there was a scene with the motor heads at the swap meet and they are describing Fondas Charger. One said it had a 351 Cleveland, one said a Hemi, and the other said it was a 440 cause he saw the callout stickers. The cop persuaded them to speak up so he wouldnt hear the pipes on the Camaro, then one said that it had a black racing stripe....When I got it on DVD last year, I noticed that scene was not in the movie or even on the deleted scenes...whats going on? Did I imagine that whole scene from years ago? :shruggy:

Ghoste

No you didn't imagine it, that is one of the deleted scenes from the theatrical version.  There are a few threads on here which describe them in greater detail.

I remember that seen also. Along time ago.
Still looking for 15x7 Appliance slotted mags.....

There is also one more scene between Franklin and the sheriff back at the station.  There are four in total and I do have a copy with all four deleted scenes in it.  Unfortunately, it's a really, really, really crappy copy.  I've been searching for a few years now for a good copy of the original version but so far, nothing.

pettyfan43

Yeah the guys are all arguing about the engine in the car and the last one pipes up and says "440, I saw the decal!" so you are NOT imagining the scene. It used to be there.

440AirForce

If the Fox broadcast has the scenes, I'll burn the copy and post to You Tube.

I have that scene on my DVD. :shruggy:
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

Ghoste

The whole scene?  There is an abbreviated version in the commonly available tv edit that just has the deputy mentioning about not being able to hear the pipes.

TheGhost

I remember them saying something about the callouts on the stripes.  I guess I'll have to watch the movie again to find out. :icon_smile_big:

I think the line about "Hey, it had a black racing stripe" may be on the edit version.  If you are going to watch it, check for the whole scene with debate about it being a Hemi or a 440 or a 351 Cleveland.

THE CHARGER PUNK

Yeah the part on the new dvd release has the part where one of the guys on the camaro says ''I think it had a black racing stripe'' but thats it, ive never seen the extended original version , maybe it will be in it on feb.20th

I have a few different versions of DMCL on VHS, and on DVD. Not sure exactly what all is different from all the versions, I have only watched 2 of them since buying all of them. Kepts buying them all because hey it a Charger movie.

Ghoste

If it's the legit VHS, it will likely be the same as the dvd version they released a couple of years ago.  I should make a bunch of bootleg dvd's of the crappy full length one I have and start hawking them on e-bay and maybe that'll encourage somebody to make a good copy of it.

Go for it!

I bought a video of the movie Killdozer for friend of mine on ebay. It turned out to be really bad quality bootleg. I returned it and got my money back, but it amazed me that the guy has sold hundreds of movies on there and gotten away with it.

I remember seeing the Original at the Drive In Theatres way back around 74. Never forgot the part Where Fonda tells George I'm going to Braid your Tits. She might have been topless at the time also. I'm sure this part has been Cut. You mean nobody remember's seeing this part? This part also reminds of that Part in Vanishing Point where they cut out the part with the Chick riding the Motorcycle nude & that great music in the Background Leslie Wests Mountain & playing Mississippi Queen. I seen that one at the Drives back in 70's to, along with the Original gone in 60 Seconds. LEON.

Ghoste

Not topless, in fact I think that scene is in the edited version as well.  The Vanishing Point scene is on the dvd as well as the scene where he picks up the hitchhiker.
