Hi

Anybody know what size of brakes a 1971 440 Charger should originally have?
Also diameter of torsion bars and number of leafs in the rear springs?
Need to know this to get my car registered here in Norway.
The VIN number of the car tells me that it´s originally a 318 cid.
Mine has 10" drums on all wheels.
Thanks in advance for your reply.

Best regards

Hi Morten, My '71 R/T has 10" rear drums (on original 8.75 rear) but my front brake are rotors so I can't help you out there. the leaf count is 6 on the driver's side and 5 on the passenger side. If you need I can measure the torsion bars this weekend for you.  Boy... they sure need some strange info in Norway to register a car. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the information. They are very strict when it is something that is not original.
My car was a 318 from factory. I must show documentation from manufacturer that the car could be ordered with a 440 and then what brakes and springs it should have.  :brickwall:
Also I have to change the lights on the car, orange parking lights in front not allowed must be changed to white.
Rear and front fender marking lights not allowed must be painted black and front fenders must have turning signal lights.  :eek2:
But will change it back again as soon as I get the license plates.
