Mines not for sale?  I'm still putting the thing back together.  As for people that finance to buy their toys, why not?  Overall it should be an investment, you should get all or most of your money back if you did have to sell.  I never understood why people find it odd to borrow money for their hobby.  Look at horse owners, boat lovers, that spend 10's of thousands for their hobby. Trucks, trailers, shed, food, the horse, saddles and equipment.  What return do they get other than the enjoyment?  You borrow the money, you insure it, you have fun (you only live once  :shruggy: ) and when it's all over you sell your investment.  Works for me.  If we have money issues the Charger is first to go.  Until then I see it like money in the bank, when my hobby is over, it'll be paid for and money comes back to the family.

What if you finance your car, find that times are tight and the economy is in a downturn and you need to sell your car - buuuuut the economy is in the downturn and no one is interested in buying toys at this point.   :scratchchin:

There is always somebody out there that will pay the " investment " asking price .

Let's say "Jim" paid $20,000.00 for his Charger in April 2005.  He financed it and is making monthly payments.  In February 2008 the economy is in piss poor shape all over and people are starting to liquidate their unnecessary assets.  Jim's Charger happens to fall into that category and Jim is not alone.

So, there are plenty of Chargers available, Jim would like to at least break even but with an influx of Chargers available, he is having a tough time finding a buyer to pay $20,000.00 for his Charger.  He has 10 guys lined up to pay $15,000.00 but no one is willing to pay $20,000.00.  You may say, "well then I won't sell it" but keep in mind you need to sell it because you and your family need the money 'cause the economy is causing a great strain on your financial situation at home - something needs to go 'cause you need cash quick to keep the wolves from the door.  I guess it's time to cut and run and accept your losses.

My personal opinion - if you pay cash for somehing that is not 100% necessary then when times do get tough, in this case, the Charger doesn't really come into the equation as it doesn't cost you anything to keep it.  If times are really tough, you can sell it for whatever you need to.

Most are probley selling for quick easy money  :woohoo:    It's awful hard to find someone that doesn't like or want to buy a Charger . Right now it's wintertime cold rain, wind and snow most places  makes it hard to get most folks to want to leave their warm homes and take a road trip to look at car.
With the price most newspapers charge nowadays to place an ad it doesn't pay to list anything unless you can count on guarented results .Nowbody wants to purchase ads only to end up dealing with flakes  :loser: :   that waste your time with crazy trade offers     that they spring on you last minute in your yard looking at your car in person  :blahblah:
I beilieve now is Not! the time to sell a Charger no way :Twocents:
If your looking to sell a Charger I'd advise waiting a few months my guess is around May the price should be back up there as people like to travel and spend as it gets closer to summer time.My guess is by summer time it will be back to big demand and no local cars listed for sale.Right now I've seen want ads offering $500-1000 finders fee for charger leads (just a lead or info on a car for sale) The way the ad looks to me they pay $500-1000 regardless of any new lead but I think to actully see their finders fee bonus the sale has to be finalized :shruggy:.Sounds to good to be trure to me : :Twocents:
Maybee some folks wanted to build a " General Lee" replica and can't figure out what happend to the North American General Lee Fan Club website  :popcrn:   so maybee they gave up on their project. I thought Travis and the rest had a cool club going there  :Twocents: but read everyone has their own opinion posted around the message boards so no need to  :horse:   when last checked studio store had cool Knight Rider replica lisence plates etc...  . No new Dukes movies out now prices down somewhat  :scratchchin:
Wait till Hollywood gets the next Charger movie out then the new post will be why are prices so High for Chargers nowadays  :2thumbs:

QuoteI deal with it knowing my dream car sits securley in my garage paid for and knowing it was saved from being crushed or roting away in some field or behind a shed.
Hey 7chargres, I couldn't agree more.

It is up to the invester to make a wise choice when buying a classic. If joe blow buys a car now and makes a wise choice then I would say with the lower prices now he can get a deal. I pretty much go by if I have to question my desision then negotiate or move on. :Twocents:

BROCK

Times have been tough for me before - had my beloved 70 R/T SE up for sale twice.  Somehow, someway I've
managed to find another way to get by.  Yep, still have that car :2thumbs:
If tough times strike again, I'll sell off bass guitars first.  They're handmade, vintage & up to $2K to $4K in value
at the moment.
I'm just hoping to buy during this typical election year drought & sell when things settle back out economically
:yesnod:

I do wish those that are being affected by this downturn the best & a quick recovery

You can come up with a million what if stories, take all those negative what if stories and change them to positive what if stories.  There are millions of profitable positive stories out there.  Of course cash is always better but we all don't have what these big buck Mopars cost, but we do have  the deep desire to own one and can make payments.  I stopped worrying about the negative what if's and I am going to enjoy the car, and I'm thrilled to know that I have the opportunity to do so, borrowed cash or not. If I make money one day selling it fine.  If not, fine.  But I had the rare opportunity to own it, enjoy it, and feel like a million bucks driving it.  I'm not worrying about making money or not.  I'm Just enjoying the hobby

This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Price is 64.000$$$ cash... Give me the money and the Charger is yours...

There have been several people interested, but to todays date nobody who asked about it has shown me any money... I'm sick of people wanting to buy stuff, but who lack the funds to buy -Why do these people even say it out loud, that they want to buy something, when they don't even have the money needed :brickwall:
