Take a look at the crap plugging my cowl drain

Look at the crap plugging up my cowl drain! This pic is of the area at the base of the windshield, the backside of the wiper motor. The wiper motor is removed in this pic. By chance I found this drain plugged. My Charger doesnt get wet very often but this is the kind of thing that will lead to rust.

Just thought I would put out a heads up about keeping the drain clear.

Yeah that spot always fills with crap.  I have pulled handfuls of stuff out of some of the parts cars ive had.  One was full of walnut shells.   :smilielol:

Pop the plastic vents up and vacuum out the crud.

My 74 had about 5" of dirt and leaves in it. Took a long time to clear out, it had turned into almost cement.

I had to have that area repaired on the fire wall side on mine due to rust through.
Thats how I roll.

This is a very often overlooked area where serious rust starts.
I just bought a 74 road runner.
The floor was rusted through on both sides. The owner must have decided it was a window leak and put gobs of sealant around it. Turns out both sides around the fresh air towers were totally clogged with possibly years of crud and this rusted through behind the dash.
This in turn caused the fender braces and fresh air towers themselves to disintegrate.
A lot of damage can be avoided by cleaning these areas.

 :iagree:
I painted the area on mine with POR15 and opened up that drain in the engine bay a bit.
I still plan on flushing it out every time I wash the car...
