There is a guy down here selling a TCI Tranny on more less $380.... something good about?

also TCI 3000 stall converter on more less $100. He had to switch to the stock one back because was a headache drive the car on heavy transit, confirming what I thought and then make my choice a "not that bad" one.

I know he had some goodies on his 400 engine, but dunno what he had, I don't know him personally yet.

selling all that because lost the Cars Passion. Charger where was that stuff, was virtually destroyed when a Truck hit him on back

I run a TCI streetfighter trans in my charger for a couple years now I like it have had no problems and it shifts great, and I don't baby it  :drive: I also run a TCI converter its the "breakaway" converter its a 2400-2600 stall I like it and I only run my car on the street.

I have a Breakaway and I have had no problems with it but my firends here on the East coast want me to get a different converter.  I heard that TCI is better than B&M but things never stay the same meaning quailty of work gets poor or they improve things never stay the same.  :Twocents:

We bought a c-4 from them for my dads Mustang sent it back 2 time they never got it right.  Sent it to PTC  they figured out it had the wrong pump in it and sent it back.  So we are  :fu: on TCI stuff.   Even if it is for a Ferd :smilielol:

Well it is also Ford's fault for OVER-designing things...     did you know there are about 5 different small block ford water pump gaskets ?   like 3 different firing orders, different cylinder numberings...        :eek2:

my main question is more about Tranny itself than the converter

ya I knida noticed that we really skipped over what you really asked about didn't we :D If you don't get your answer here I would start calling around to transmission shops and ask them if they ever had an TCI tranny or heard anything about them, or you could call or write TCI and ask for references for more info ya know.  :yesnod:

Nacho-RT74

down here nobody knows about TCI stuff LOL

ask to TCI about his products ? that's funny... of course they will give me the good references LOL

NOW, thinkikng, I'm a little bit confused, if guy told he has a TCI or TSI tranny haha!

Like I said I have a TCI trans in my charger and I like it, it shifts nice and firm and like I said I don't baby it  :drive: TCI makes three different trans heres a link to their site  http://www.tciauto.com/Products/Transmissions/ :2thumbs: I don't know witch trans  the guy you know has, you  need to find out  :2thumbs:

yeah I saw the three diff trans. The first one doesn't look really "better" than the stock one. I think he mentioned does have auto/manual valve body

I have seen a couple of TCI Streetfighter and Super Streetfighter transmissions pulled apart and the only thing remarkable about them is their lack of being remarkable, not much better than a good HD stock rebuild. Of course, the same can be said of some other brands too.

So in your opinion, beside the valve body kind, even being that cheap, is not something to buy if is not needed ?

My tranny was recently rebuilt ( about a year ago )

Depends on the quality of the rebuild parts.

The majority of the components found in the TCI trans can be found in high performance rebuild kits but not in standard rebuild kits.
