528hemi

Hi Guys,

I have a 1966 Dodge Charger 426 hemi bored and stroke to 528ci. The motor was built by Ray Barton and wanting to keep it stock looking I decided to keep the original 2X4 stock dual plane Intake with 2 625 AFB's. It dynoed at 620HP and 630 torque down low.  I want to change the intake to a Single plane but concerned about hood clearance.

Do you know if the Indy or Ray Barton single planes will fit under the hood?   Any Single Plane low rise that are good that you can suggest?

Thanks for the help.

A buddy runs the stage V single plane on his 472 hemi. He has a 71 GTX with an air grabber set-up and it just clears the stock hood. I think he had to remove 1/2in from the carb pad. This is with a 1050 Dominator carb as well  :2thumbs:

We put a Indy single plane on a 528" hemi in a 1971 challenger with the stock R/T hood...    the engine was raised a bit due to engine mounting plates...  but it fit...    not much help i know but that's my experience there...
