Does anyone have or have ever seen a white 3rd gen or Bee with colored coded white bumpers?
Thanks :shruggy:
I believe color coded is the Lingo for when the bumpers are painted to match the Charger they are on? :scratchchin: :icon_smile_question:

I was thinking of doing that with my 73' Rally, white bumpers. white Charger? I know it is not correct for a 73' but I am putting on Hideaways and R/T tails and R/T hood. :D

Never seen a white bumpered 3rd gen yet that I can recall.  I think it could look good on yours for sure.  BTW thats the best pic of your car ive seen yet.  :2thumbs:

Thanks man.
I was not going to go with white but the original color is Eggshell White, so I figured it would look mean. I like 71' R/T's white, I was unsure but the white on the Rally grew on me.
I have a set of 72' Hideaways that are OK but would need new chrome & since I am doing R/T tails I figured be way out there like Pluto and do white bumpers. It may look nice.
What paint would you all recommend, would basic single stage be sufficient? :scratchchin:

Let me start by saying your car with white bumpers would look cool, but I personally prefer the chrome look on a car with bumper fillers.  If you decide to do it please mount the bumpers like 71-72 to eliminate the fillers all together.

If it matters, white body colored bumpers were never offered (only on E5 Red, V2 Orange, Y3 Yellow, J6 Green, B5 Blue, C7 Purple). Hidden headlights were not available with colored bumpers.

If you like it, do it.  I looked and no pics of one like that (and I have over a thousand pics), so if you want to look different, you will!  :2thumbs:

They are 15". I will have to check the dimensions, I know the rear are taller than the front & my pal tells me the rears look like wide truck tires cause they are so tall. :D
Do they look odd Nacho, please tell me the truth.

Buddy, you car looks good. The stance is nice and the tires look fine. It should be great when you make the mods to it. Even if you did nothing more to it, it would still be cool.  :2thumbs:

No, in fact I like ;D ( including rims ) I'm studying posibilities to change mines for a while I get the money to change to 17" and get 28" diameter with those. Preffer white letters thought

BTW about white bumpers... I preffer in this case chromed, but is your car, Don't think they look bad either, is just my preference, but that is me because I like chromes anywere, kinda 50s cars.

However, colored bumpers I don't think match goods with rest of chromed trim.

why not black bumpers ? probably will set good with rest of trim black ( interior, stripe and top )...  :scratchchin: well maybe a crazy idea LOL

Wow,
Thanks guys. I have put so much $ and time into the Charger that I want to make it perfect looking, to my specs. I know that a "Correct" Rally Charger would not have the dog dishes and go-wing but it is not a show Charger & I figure make it your own.  :Twocents:
Really, thanks, it has been stressing me out. :icon_smile_dissapprove:
It is like, where do you stop?
I hope that I can add an  R/T,  even R/T clone to go with the Rally, hint, hint 68R/Tforme.

The wheels are what makes me think body color bumpers would look good.  I think if you change the rims they might look out of place, but as it is now, I think its a great idea

I agree! your car looks awesome  :2thumbs:

Brian, Your car looks really sweet in that view....why have you been hiding it from us so long??  :scratchchin:  I would really like to see it with a set of 15X7 magnum style road wheels....but that's just me....I'm sure you like what you have on it  (and that's an easy fix) :icon_smile_wink:   I'm just a sucker for Magnum 500's on all Chrysler products (especially Chargers).   I also liked Bob's idea (1972rallye) about using the 71-72 bumper brackets to rid the fillers....especially if you go with the hidden headlamps up front. It's a great idea for choosing white painted bumpers ....in fact, they should've been available on ALL colors instead of the 5 or so color choices in 1971.  If you're going for a modified look, it's a great choice.  Too bad it only lasted one year on 3rd gens, because everyone would have them. You'll be different.  Keep us posted.  :2thumbs:  TUF.

Wow,
Thanks guys. I really appreciate all the input. I think I am going to try the white bumpers.
Nacho, I am going to have the tires reversed to have the Raised White's showing. I am a fan of Raised Whites as well. :2thumbs:
You guys have no idea how the positive replies made me feel. :D
I was frustrated at first with this Charger.  :RantExplode:
I am finally starting to look past the small little things that are not perfect on the Charger and just enjoy it and drive it and make it my own. :yesnod:
Since I am on a tight budget and since I have some white single statge paint leftover that I will give it a try.

Wow man,
When you look at the 2 pic's of our Chargers at the top of the thread you can see the difference with fillers and without. :scratchchin:

Are you going to paint your original bumpers?  I have some spares I havent got around to selling yet, if you want to keep yours in storage.

PM me on what you have. Thanks man.
Do you think single stage paint would work? :shruggy:

I'll be a naysayer, and say I think it would look better with the current chrome bumpers.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

How about having someone conjure it up in the photoshop thread before you even try it??
