Well some of you know that I've been looking.waiting for a certain job, but they were doing back ground check on me. It became evident today as to why I did not get the job w/the Municipality painting cop cars. I'm not screwed, but I did lose a good paying job, if I had been actually hired until my incident last week. My old boss has a '06 GT 40 pictured below. he called me and said lets go for a ride, I drove again and thats where the fun began but ended real quick. Got on the high way and opened it up, caught up to a white truck, crap, it was a cop, he clocked me at 164 mph in a 65 zone. He yelled for a while, didn't give a ticket, he followed us back to my ex-boss body shop and said he never wanted to see us or the car again. My neighbor tells me he heard about what happend, also a cop. He heard my job ended due to the Muni' who was going to hire me dropped my offer. Oh well, I didn't get a ticket, my ex boss got to keep his car and I have other job offers in the waiting. No, there was no traffic where I was headed except for that one truck wayyyyy ahead of us until........

Correct, they have 4x4's here. It was in Anchorage also, not E/R. hey, I pulled over since I came up on him. No sense in going any further. Besides, it's not my car. And yes, I was hauling ass on a public road. No traffic during this time of day headed out of town. Like your guys are high and mighty, give me a break. Next time I go that way on the high way, I'll take a photo of its length and you'll see, very easy to on that 2 mile stretch or so. There are 6 GT 40's up here also FYI. Two Lamborghini Diablo's and a few Ferrari's, and other misc. fast cars.

Don't take offense Mark.  It was only an attempt to find humor in a bad situation.  Like you, I am also currently out of work.  And like you, I have driven at insane speeds on public roads.  Not saying that I'm proud of it, just saying that I can relate.

I just couldnt help but wonder how much smoke you got from the brakes trying to whoa that thing down?  By my calculations, you were going nearly 100 MPH faster than the cop was when you saw him!

Braking was not a problem. I pulled in front of him. I let off the gas and geared down, braked slowly w/no issues. I'm not upset w/you guys. My main point was that I lost the job I was applying for, but hey, jobs come and go. I'm not worried. I have two other places I'm waiting on right now, had another yesterday. Odd jobs in between also, so I'm all good. Did I do a bad thing speeding, sure, will I do it again, ha, most likely. If you get a chance to ride or drive a Viper, GT 40, Porsche or even a Corvette at this speed, you'll know how graceful these type of cars are. Do I want one, hell yeah, but wife keeps telling me no. At a almost $1500.00 for a car payment. Soon as I win the lottery though I told her!
