Anybody have recommendations for shocks for a 69 Charger?  I have played around on the net and found very little info.  I would like a adjustable shock with 50/50 action.  In the past, I have used Koni's.  Can't afford them anymore.  Used a set of Gabriel Red Ryders in the past that were adjustable.  Looks like Monroe has a cheap shock.  I couldn't find any specs.  Gabriel has a cheap one.  I think they are both gas type.  Couldn't find a listing for any Bilsteins.  Kyb appears to have one for around $40.  No specs on it either.
What I am finding is crappy web sites with no technical info and a selection chart by year and make with a part number.  Thats about it.

So--------what are you using.  By the way, the car will have a 440 in it.

I'm using the Comp Engineering street/strip shocks. They are 3 way adjustable ;

front : 90/10...80/20...70/30
rear : 70/30....60/40....50/50

Depends what the car will be used for.  ;) The Edebrock IAS shocks are supposed to be awesome for all around driving....but they are pricy $$$

The shock absorber situation in the car world is crazy.
No consistent info, no sources of unbiased evaluation, not even any concrete yardsticks of measurement.

(Imagine if everyone bought camshafts like this . . . )

Just 6T9 CHGR

I had KYB's in my car....I tossed them for a set of Monroe Classics.......much more friendlier shock to these crappy NYC streets.  KYB's were too harsh for my taste

Thanks gentlemen.  I see that the Comp Engineering pieces would be perfect for the track situation.  90/10 to let the front end rise and transmit the weight to the rear wheels and 50/50 at the rear.  I did look up the Edelbrock units.  Cost $75 each---$300 for the set of 4.  I think I will go with the Monroe-Matic units and paint them black like Chris did.

"What kind of shocks do you guys use in your General Lees?  Every time I try to jump my Charger over a creek like that, it breaks!"

$500 for a set of 4 from Firm Feel.  I can't find anybody else that lists any for sale that fit 69 Chargers.  So I don't know if that is a good price on Koni's or not.  It's getting pretty darned expensive though.
