This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Can I ask how much $$ for the paint job?  Is there and body work involved?  Or just paint?  I'll be taking mine in for paint next month.

I don't have a total price yet but I can guaranty it won't be $199.  :smilielol:   I am dropping it off tomarrow morning instead of Tuesday and will have a better idea on how bad my butt is going to hurt after it's done.  :'(  My son and I did most of the sanding and taking apart the car but I am going to have the shop block sand it as for I am just to dam lazy.  :slap:  It's funny how I'm excited and yet nervous at the same time.   I'm going to buy Mrs. Skip a new digital camera so she can take some pictures of the best car in the world tomorrow and when it's done and we will share the pics. with all.     Thank's for the good words guy's  :2thumbs:    Chuck...........

Daddy ran whiskey in a big black dodge
bought it at an auction at the masons lodge,
Johnson County Sherriff painted on the side,
just shot a coat of primer then he looked inside,
well him and my uncle tore that engine down,
I still remember that rumblin' sound.....

The blue paint job on it was a cheap crappy job.  :rotz:  I've been getting it ready for paint for a while now doing it myself and I'm just out of time and patients.  It should have been painted in Tennessee but I kept having other issues with it.   Chuck.............

Wow,  :o I just went and took a peek at it in the shop and it looks good.  :2thumbs: I did do about 4 hours of blocksanding on it and it paid off.  They shot another coat of primer on it and then shot it jet black.  This is to see the flaws in it so we can have it smooooooth.  There is a few spots that need attention but other than that it looks great.  The bodyman said we did good and saved a lot of money by doing most of the work ourselves.  I should be able to pick the car up by next Tuesday or Wednesday.  I just got a new HDD camcorder that takes pictures too.  :2thumbs: I took some pics of it so now I have to figure out how to get them here.  The cost right now is $1100 with $450 for the paint.  I do have a small issue with my passenger side 1/4 panel (bondo dent) that I'm having him fix and that's it.  I'll try to get pics up tonight.  Chuck..........

Thank's again Cody for posting the pics for us.  :2thumbs:  I'll get some more on Friday and see how it looks then.  The final bodywork will be done and ready for paint on Friday so I want to take a peek at it.  I will say this to all that are getting a car ready for the paint shop, do as much of the bodywork as you can and you can save literally thousands of dollars.$$$  My car was in pretty good shape to begin with but not like glass.  We spent about 70 hours sanding, primer, and sanding and then I spent 4 hours the other morning block sanding it then took it in.  And by the look of it so far I'd say we did real good for never doing it before.   Thank's for the complements guys.  Chuck.......
