I took the wife's vehicle into the Ford dealership(sorry)  today for an oil change, and they used Motorcraft Semi Synthentic 5w20 and an additive called BG MOA. Is this additive worth the extra money? I've never heard of that additive before. From the website, it sounds pretty good, should I use it in my MoPars? Thanks.

If she has a newer vehicle, all she needs is the Motorcraft 5W/20 because it has plenty of detergents and protection for her engine. They are just trying to make money off of you by selling you the additive and it is a waste off $$$. BG MOA is a fine product but I would not use it unless I had a higher mileage engine. Most of the new motor oils today are great and you just do not need any additives. As been discussed a million times before just change your oil and filter every 3000 miles and enjoy your vehicle.

BG MOA contains additives similiar to those found in synthetics.  It just extends the oil life between oil changes so you can change less often.

the BG fuel additive is awesome.  I have ran it multipule times.  If I didn't get a discount on it.  I would have a hard time paying $20 a can for it though.
