my parents used to haul me and my brother around in  a 73 Ford Country Squire wagon. we used to sit in the back. the metal floor let us slide all over while we drive.

once i got very motion sick in the back. the car was that kind of green with a green vinyl and cloth interior. to this day green like F6 make me feel alittle ill.

I bought the F3 69 R/T SE and it had a NOM 69 426 hemi in it. It had a one year old paint job and all  of the original SE parts were inplace./ However the fender tag had been lost two owners ago and I could find no build sheet./

I took the hemi out and had it prof rebuilt./ I was told the engine couldn't have had more than 15K miles on it.

Then I put the 440 from my challenger convertible (which was NOM) into the 69  Charger and put the hemi in the Chally Vert./

I did a bunch of work on the 69 Charger to get it close to original looking under the hood.

Because the 69 did not have a fender tag it didn't go for top dollar. I sold it for $26K on Ebay  and it went to Holland.

Probably more info than  you want.

Wow....I'd say that was a smoking good deal for 26K.

"Wow....I'd say that was a smoking good deal for 26K."

That's what I thought too! Especially since I paid a lot money for it with the hemi in it.

It is indeed a great color. In my experience, F8 is more common, but there are certainly many F3's currently in red, black and orange paint jobs.

Same color as my first car - a 69 Charger with a 318 2bbl.  Console shift , black top and interior.   Very Nice.  Too bad its not seen more often.

Memory Lane Motors sold two of my former cars .  Pretty good folks to work with.

I remember having a ride in a brand new Super Coupe with my Dad and Tufcat back in 1978...looking back at it, it was a stone dog, but in 78, it was SUPER COOL!

Dual exhaust, one tailpipe the size of a sewer!!

I was impressed as a 12 year old kid!....back then, all of the knuckleheads drove Trash Am's with Chickens on the hood. .... and Z/28's and Mustang II's  hahahahahahaha!

The 70's sucked.

I remember....it was a Volare.  I think Aspens were better looking.  :Twocents: :Twocents:

By the way....getting back to the subject, and not to be a thread high-jacker - - I think they should have been offered in green!  :icon_smile_big: :icon_smile_big: :icon_smile_big:

i personally wouldn't paint my car that color if it was factory applied or not, the only exception being if it was a #'s matching HEMI car. as mentioned before, there are just too many other prettier colors. in my opinion, the reason the green looks good on a car like that is because it is so nice overall... any color looks nice on a charger when the car is restored :)

i'ts not the best color but it's better then that nasty forest green

Hey now, that really hurts!  Ha.

Out of all the colors that Ma MoPar laid on from '69 to '73 I'll admit that green would probably not have been the color I would have ordered one in, but when she's still wear'n the original paint (and your the second owner) or you're seriously considering keeping her in the same color she rolled off the line in, you gotta think twice, no three times, before you change it.  Add to that the green interior and your pretty much stuck.

I personally like the light green metallic even better than mine...the nasty forest green.

All joking aside...it's a really tough choice.  Good luck to ya Mark and once you've folowed through with it don't look back.

JimsSE,

nice Charger. I noticed a PA antique tag on it. What area are you from?
