How much is needed to be in Carlisle ? I mean BEING ALREADY THERE! some entry ticket ? stay 3 or 4 nights, food, etc...

I know once being there is needed money if you want to buy something, but I want to know the basic charges!

I have the Carlisle link, so don't provide me that  ;) I want to know about your experience.

It costs approximately $25 to get into the show for three days. Depending on where you can get a hotel the rooms are $95-130+ per night. If you can split that with someone it helps a LOT! I usually take about $10-20 per day for food (the concessions are expensive) but last year we brought in water and food with the cars so that saved a bunch. It definitely helps to have a car (or a buddy with a car) in the show to pack lunch and water/drinks for the day - and chairs of course! You'll do a lot of walking. If you want to buy parts in the swap meet you'll also do a lot of carrying while walking so it's nice to have a "home base" to rest, relax, and unload.

That's because you just haven't learned how to find the right cardboard box to sleep in by the food court under the grandstands yet. It has to be by the food court too, or you won't get the good eats pickin's at the end of the day before the trash gets hauled. I bet you can do Carlisle for just the cost of the gate admission if you don't buy any car parts.   :D

You mean if he cut out the hours of go cart racing he would have saved $100.

Speaking of Carlisle, I'm planning on going again. This time I plan on driving over the 500, anyone wanna split a hotel room?

nacho, i was there in 2006 and had a great time  :2thumbs: i would recommend booking your room months in advance if you just show up without a booking you will be out of luck. And for sure if you can share expenses that will save you $. I personally didnt need to stay the whole time 2 days was fine for me but i had limited time and my $ was running out!. As mentioned, be prepared to do alot of walking! and finding a place to park isnt easy iether (i parked out on the streets quite a distance away) I bought some weld mags with tires I carried them (with a friend) we both had 2 each for a long way...I got to the gate and just went and got the car i just couldnt be bothered carrying them any longer.

Actually, if you're planning to go you should be booking your rooms NOW.... we usually stay at the Hampton Inn near the fairgrounds, and back in early November we got the last 3 rooms they had...... :o

Danny that go-cart track was awesome!  (especially when you have had a few in ya!)   There are certain people that get REALLY competitive on those tracks  :slap:   I made it my personal goal to put that person into the wall when ever I got the chance  :loser:

We went in 2005 and camped in a cabin for the weekend got there Friday and left sunday cooked on the camp fire so we had about $75 for the camping and stopped at the grocery to pick up food to cook around $60 to$70 dollars there! food price was for 4 of us. I'm not going into what I spent at the show on parts. Cant remember the camp site we stayed at it was only about 15 to 20 minutes tops from the show if I recall.

It is one of the things on my bucket list, but will probably need to wait until after I am retired from coaching :shruggy:  Sure hope I don't kick the bucket before then

Last year my expenses were gas, tolls, food  and hotel.  I got in free on Speedo's vendor pass.    Got room at Ramada right off 81 a couple weeks before the show.  Easy off the highway to get in but not any easier to get to the show as it's the wrong side of 76.
I was offered to share a room in Shippensburg with the crew but I wanted to stay closer cause I knew I was leaving Sat. night anyway.
I spent a $2 - 300 on parts - don't quite remember... don't really care.

Time is close to start figuring out stuff for this year.
