Got the mail this morning about thebuild up of the engine that will replace the tired and leaky 383.
Please advise.
Here we go:

Correct vintage used engine core assembly for your Charger, with a steel crankshaft.
Fully remanufactured long block to precision specifications @ Portland Engine Rebuilders.
All new internal parts, not a bunch of used components.
Fully balanced, statically & dynamically.
Hard exhaust seated heads for unleaded fuel use.
Installation of all tinware & manifolding, painted nicely, professionally sealed up.
Fresh 4 barrel carburetor, either Edelbrock or Holley, your choice.
Ignition system parts, preferrably updated to electronic distributor.
Remanufactured starter motor, alternater internally regulated charging system, water pump, thermostat & housing, fan belt, & any other related small parts.
Crate up engine properly & air shipment through our AIG account to Belgium.

High performance add-on parts would include the following components & procedures:

Mopar performance street Hemi hydraulic camshaft & lifter kit, camshaft degreed in 4^-6^ advanced for maximum torque & vacuum signal, correct valve springs to match cam, chrome-molly steel retainers & valve keepers, Manley stainless steel valves, pocket porting & polishing the valve bowls in heads, torque plate honing the block for maximum ring seal, brass soft plug kit, & a true roller timing chain set.

We spoke about 10.0:1 compression ratio.  this will ping & detonate on the 90-92 octane gasoline we have here in Oregon, but will work fine if you have 95-96 octane gasoline in Belgium.

Frist, I love the Hemi street cam for a BB, Neil and Ron will not. 4 to 6 advances will help the bottom end.

I would want to see a list of parts names and numbers my self. Are they cast pistons or forged, what are the bearings, rings etc.

CB, contact Neil and see if he can do a 440 for you and ship it. (Soory Ron) but I wished I had Neil do my 440. Neil is the one person here I know knows more than me. Likely Ron does as well but Neil and I go way back and him I sort of think the same, but not cam's!  ;D

What is the cost with and with out shipping? Is there a warranty if any?

Neil knows is stuff, wished he made it down to check out my engine Ken.

PS, if you have to ship anyway talk with Neil.

:iagree: Neil does know his stuff...and then some.   :yesnod: If i needed an engine done i wouldn't think twice about having him put it together for me if i didn't have the resources to do it myself. Quality machinework and attention to detail, especially clearances....is what makes or breaks an engine, inmo.

Ken, we do a little engine building in these parts here too   ;) Here's a pic of my friends 446 blower engine being assembled in my garage. All the good stuff too ; Eagle rods, Diamond gas ported blower pistons, file to fit rings, .630 lift solid roller cam and it is topped off by a set of ported Bulldogs (320cfm @ .600) and 6-71 with two 850dp holleys.

So far, it's run 7.04 in the 1/8th at 3900 lbs and is underdriven with about 5psi of boost. The overdrive pullies will be going on it soon and some race fuel will get dumped in the cell to see what she's really got !   :icon_smile_big:

Ron, I know you know your stuff as well. Like I said, Neil and I go back to the old site and we have talked many times on the phone. I listen to your advise's as well.

Main reason I said to ask Neil is that is how he makes his living and is slow in the winter. Bet he is up to his 8 & 3/4 in snow now. ;D

Hey Ken, i know that you know   ;) I just do this as a hobby, not as a professional but i do like to do it right. I've broken enough stuff over the years and learned a lot of lessons the hard way, lol !

Yep, heard about the snow out west.   :P It's sunny and 80* out here....went for a swim in the pool yesterday   :icon_smile_cool: Hard to believe they're getting whacked with snow this early in the season.
