I'm getting ready to have the charger blasted, but I need to remove the window and vent glass from the doors. I removed the quarter windows and assemblies and it was a PITA. Plus, I have no idea how to put it back in.

Is there an "easy" way to get this done?

Charger-Bodie

(1) remove the regulator.

(2) remove the rear channel.

(3) remove all of the bolts and nuts for the wing window frame (Dont forget the allen head bolt that holds the inner and outer door together, it also sandwiches a ear on the front channel. Its located in the upper Pad area.

(4) remove tha cat wiskers.

(5) slide the door glass and wing window assembly out the top of the door in one big piece.
68 Charger R/t white with black v/t and red tailstripe. 440 4 speed ,black interior
68 383 auto with a/c and power windows. Now 440 4 speed jj1 gold black interior .
My Charger is a hybrid car, it burns gas and rubber............

Thanks, 1hot68.

I can probably figure out what most of the terminology is when I look at the door up close, but what is the regulator?

Also, some of the parts from the lift/assembly from the quarter windows were broken off. Is there any place that replaces them?

Remove the window regulator (the mechanism that moves the door glass up or down)

Remove the rear channel (the metal channel with a felt lining that the rear of the door glass [the stainless steel strip that holds the weatherstriping] slides up and down in

Both are shown in the attached photo prior to being restored/replaced

These photos may help with locating some of the nuts and bolts you'll need to access to remove the vent frame assembly.

The second photo shows the pin that is accessed through the bottom of the door.  This piece is supposed to be welded to the vent frame assembly.  As you can see, mine broke off, which is not uncommon, and had to be welded back together.

As Brian had stated, remove the vent frame and the door glass all as one.

I have all of these photos as I disected a pair of spare doors I had.

Wow Shakey, almost looks like a large caliber bullet hole in that upper dash pad area!

Take pics of where the bolts are at before you take them out the bolts are there for Alignment if you take pics of them it will give you some idea on where they need to be when you put them back together. Don't forget about the rubber bumper inside the door too, they pretty pricey too.  :eek2: good luck and happy trails

I don't know what that was, these were a spare set of doors I had to experment and use as guides as they were almost complete.
