Do to a few PM's, I will post the pics............... Brock is it a waste  :rotz: ............. sorry to those who cared
I never said no birds ever came without or with a Hemi....... just posted the only one I know, thought
it was interesting as a driver car.

This car did NOT come with a Hemi stock, the headers were not stock either......

I believe that there was recently one of the "HEMI" T-birds for sale on Ebay. couldn't have been more than a few months ago.

Um, I seriously doubt that the car in the pictures came with that engine originally.

I was trying to find some mention of Ford ever using a Hemi in a Thunderbird (since no one posted any links). I didn't find anything but I did find this:

Dan Tanna - Private Eye cruised the apparently extensive streets of Las Vegas in a Corvette "devil red"  1957 T-Bird setting the fashion for having a continental Kit on a '57.  In fact he drove the same section of street multiple times in the same "shot" just watch the rear projection repeating whilst he speaks on his "Car telephone" (whilst driving a convertible?)
Pilot + 68 episodes were  made, Dan Tanna was played By Robert Urich, Tony Curtis played his employer the Owner of the Desert Inn.
Show was reputedly one of the most stylish Detective series, it certainly had an impressive list of Guest Stars, Robert Urich later resurrected the role in Spenser for Hire.
2 cars were actually used in the filming, a "Show" car for close ups and a "Stunt" Car  fitted with a Police Chrysler engine and locking front wheels for the Tire screeching scenes.
At the end of filming the cars were painted Aqua so they could be used in the 1980 Film remake of Breathless.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Nacho-RT74

So this thread isn't a total waste:

found this cool site while lookin for the elusive chysler hemi engined T-bird...
  http://www.socalsaac.org/

on a somewhat related subject:
Sunbeam tigers are a  car I've concidered and lusted after for many decades now..
Amyhow, before being scooped up by ford, who dropped their 289 into them, were powered by Chyslers...
for all of like 6 Mos... they go like the dickens and have roll up windows and better fit and finish then most sports cars of the period.
I know you guys don't care, but when your an old guy like me who grew up on the west coast and went to sports car races in the early '60s,..   :shruggy:

Thanks for reposting the pix Dan.   I thought the 200's, 300 displacement Hemis all had distributors in the rear.  :shruggy:  The oil filter's location is puzzling.  Doesn't look like an external set up?

Thanks to Brock tho, this thread was saved.

Here's the other Hemi T-bird thread; http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,34473.0.html

I can't help but assume that the yellow one pictured above would have some overheating issues, due to the dinky fan & no shroud. Still cool to see, though. :)

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

69_500

I was almost sure that I had seen on posted on Ebay for sale a few months back too. I tried to look on there, but came up empty. I thought I had it saved as an item I was watching, but not sure how long it saves those watches after the auction ends.

Yeah, I saw that. Well, not when I searched earlier. But any way, look closely at the engines. The one in this thread has an engine that didn't exist when the car was built so that's why I made the first comment.
