Anyone like this film? Are there any replicas out there?

Charger_Fan

What's not to like about Christine? :icon_smile_cool:

Replicas of which...the car or the movie? :icon_smile_big:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

What's not to like? For once they killed a Camaro and left the Charger in good shape. :2thumbs: Can't say they helped maintain the population of Furys and Belvaderes though.

histoy

Volo Auto Museum had one of the movie cars for sale.  Not sure if it's still there or whether it sold.

like this film?.. that film rocks! I saw the sneak preview when it came out, and I've seen it ten times since then!
never seen a clone though, i attempted for many years to purchase a one owner '57 Fury from the original owner who promised to sell it to me for over a decade, but ended up giving it to his son, though, according to dad his son really didn't care...   :shruggy:

Awesome movie, probably my favorite car flick...

Buy the special edition DVD. They chopped a ton of footage out of that movie and most of it features the Charger.

I don't know how many times I've walked out into my garage and said "show me" to my Charger and nothing ever happens. :icon_smile_big:

Just kidding. Here's a little trivia: "CHRISTINE is based on the Stephen King novel, which can be seen on a bookshelf in the movie."

Yep. It's the book Dennis pulls off the shelf in the library when he's trying to get closer Leigh and flirt with her.

Most excellent movie!!!

King uses lots of encounters from his life in his books. I would see him a couple times a year when he would stay at his summer house in the lakes region (Naples) of western Maine. He plays guitar and would bring his guitar in for restringing and setup as our shop was the only one on route 302. I would chit chat with him out back while working on his guitar. He told me that the old man with the junk cars in Christine was based on a guy he met when he was a teenager and the guy llived in South Paris Maine. He actually mentioned quite a few things that he used from that area in various books. From peoples names, people he met, restaurants to town names, he would pepper them into things he was writing.

That's cool, Jim. He seems to be a very approachable guy IMO. I think the horror label is a bit harsh for what he writes. It may have described his early work somewhat but I've always thought of his stuff as more sci-fi or thriller, or a combination thereof.

Christine is set in Monroeville / Pittsburgh , Pa . area . He Mentions the 1958 Fury . But in the book there is no 68 Charger . It's a Duster .

He is a very nice guy. Atleast when I knew him he was. But I never bugged him about books or anything. I would just talk to him like anyone else. So if anything was talked about concerning his stories, he brought it up. He is a real Maine guy. I think that has allowed him to move around rather easily in maine as he is truely no different than his neighbors. He just has a cooler job making a pile more money. However, someone I know that owns a restaurant he would frequent in told me he had changed a little after his accident. He didn't go out as much as he used to when he was in the Naples area. But it may just have been a phase that he has since overcome. But yeah, the old coot was based on an old timer from South Paris. The same very small town the Loudon Speedway owner lives in. With a little research I can probably get the name again.

He is one scary looking guy . Hs looks fit the books he writes

Were you as disappointed in the end of the Dark Tower series as I was? I was pissed with the ending. I literally wanted to go slap King upside the head with a cactus. All those years waiting for that story to end, and he gives me that?

Yes and no. I quit reading during the 2nd book because it wasn't holding my interest. I guess I saved myself some grief, eh?

I own the dvd and I watch it about once a month!! Christine IS my favorite movie of all time  :naughty:
68 Charger R/t white with black v/t and red tailstripe. 440 4 speed ,black interior
68 383 auto with a/c and power windows. Now 440 4 speed jj1 gold black interior .
My Charger is a hybrid car, it burns gas and rubber............

It boggles my mind that Hollywood hasn't loosely remade a movie like "Christine" or "The Car" in recent years with a big hulking evil SUV terrorizing some teenagers.  It seems so obvious and it would be so cheap to make.

chargerguy111

Are you kidding?Christine is definitely my most favorite movie of all time.I really must have seen it over 100 times. My wife can't stand being in the same room with me when I watch it because I know everybody's lines and say them before they do, just to get on her nerves. It took her a couple of times though to figure out why I called her a "SHITTER"every time she said something negative about my Charger.I had a chance to purchase a  black 1958 Fury one time for 3800.00 and it was in pristine condition, but my bank woundn't lend on a car that old.Anyone who has a Charger, likes oldies music, and loves car movies should DEFINITELY check this movie out! It's a masterpiece!!!!!!!!!!!!!
