Does anyone use the magnumforce coil overs? How do you like them? Do these completly do away with the torsion bars?  :shruggy:

I installed the MF coil overs on a challenger with their tubular K member - and i personally dislike them      they do away with the torsion bars but stress the body and are not street friendly

2013 Dodge Challenger R/T - 5.7L Hemi / 6-speed / 3.73 Limited Slip

The Magnum Force is a nice setup, but like said here, not very street friendly.
The towers are made just to hold the shocks, and now they have to deal with the whole weight! They have a kit that stiffenes up the tower, and i think that will be fine, specially in combination with a engine compartment bar. What i dislike though, is that everything is hooked up in uniballs, so everything is dead solid, so for longer rides, it will be uncomfertable, and uniballs and road dust is not optimal, in the long run.
The RMS one is better in MHO.
I was very close to bying a MF frontend, and if they had been cuicker to answer my order, with bank details, i would have had one now.
I am very happy with the way it turnes out....................I have now what i consither the best one......... XV level II front end :2thumbs:

Since we only live once, and all this is not just a dressed rehearsal, but the real thing............ Well, enjoy it!!!!

Maybe I should just try some other options. Found out also they are $600 a set..So for that kinda $$$ I could get some edelbrock ias shocks which I have heard great things about and a new set of torsion bars from just suspension or firm feel -made to make my 2nd gen charger handle better. thanks...

Ok , so you were just going for the shock setup, and not the whole frontend!
What about getting a complete level I kit from XV? I think it is a pretty good value for your money! And it is pretty much ready dialed in, with parts that match eachother :2thumbs:

I just cant understand why you guy's want to re-invent the wheel ??? All of our cars are are treasures , not daily drivers ! If you want the ride of a new car , I have a few extra cars I can can give  you  if your  hard up .

Hi Larry
we are not trying to reinvent the wheel, we are just trying to get our ride from handeling like drunk elephant!!!!
OK.......... if i had an original Daytona, or Hemi car, even I would keep that original, even if i do not even come close to the "purist" category!! What i got, is a 68 383 car, no R/T, no matching #, no nothing, so i am going to make myself a ride i will enjoy (read: drive) the hell out of, when done :2thumbs:
And, lets say that the car was originally a VERY rare combo ordered from the factory....................... maybe butt ugly!! Means nothing to me, exept tha maybe the original owner was dyslectic and colorblind when he marked off what he wanted, when ordering it :D :D :D
And that we all have different taste :2thumbs:

There's a widely-held opinion in the Mopar hobby that you shouldn't put the front vehicle weight entirely onto just the (stock) shock towers on a street car.

The Magnum Force deals would be fine for a drag car.  Drag cars usually don't see much hard street use.  (And the're probably rollcaged out to the front shock towers anyway by the time you're looking this far into weight loss changes.)

The AlterKtion front end setup rests the coilovers onto their K-frame setup so that's not really stressing things incorrectly.

The XV setup uses the factory shock towers as a mounting point for the coilovers just like the Magnum Force deal, but XV tells you to weld on their shock tower reinforcing braces if you're gonna run that setup.

Right on! I am rebuilding the ENTIRE front suspension however . I was just looking at suggestions for those items in particular and or to get opinions on them. I just have got my tubular upper control arms from just suspension and love them. I will have a look at XV  :2thumbs:

Sorry- but not trying to reinvent the wheel. Chrysler made these cars to drive! Not to sit and look at! I like to drive and enjoy my mopars. So why not make it handle better? why not add more tq? why no bigger brakes? Id rather be enjoying something as opposed to being afraid to drive it or modify. The cars are treasures and they are FUN. Im not trying to make it handle like a lambo but every lit bit helps! OBTW...thanks for the offer but I really cant stand newer cars. I can keep up my '78 diplomat much cheaper than buying anything new and plus I can do all the work myself as well.  ;)

Some old Mopars are nice/rare and should be preserved, but others are too unoriginal & low-optioned to worry so much about.

There's still plenty of Chargers out there wearing their stock front suspensions.
