Superbird orig Nose Worth?

Hi What a Superbird orig nose in fixable cond worth any Ideas? it has some small dents and maybe a few small rust holes. It is the Nose I used to make the one on my Sunroof Superbird. He is restoring his 6 Pack bird and says he is going to buy a new nose. He wants $2500. for it but dont know If i should buy it or not. May be hard to make any money on it at that price?

buy it   you could get at least double that even if it's in horrible shape !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have heard good and bad things about gene's noses , My buddy wayne perkins nose on his silver daytona fits really bad .

  I was thinking that it would be a loaded nose ( now thinking not likely) so maybe just worth 5k

thats about right for a bare cone in so-so condition, I sold a rough but rust-free one awhile back for $2200

I'm still blown away by the fact that $100 worth of 18 gauge sheetmetal, pressed into very simple shapes, can be sold for $12,000.

In one sense, the premium you pay for NOS products is in lieu of building your own time machine and going back to purchase that particular part for yourself.  It's only worth paying any premium at all for the guys who are trying to keep their cars as original as possible, and that's a self-imposed obligation more than anything else.

The more I look at a Superbird or Daytona nosecone, the more I become absolutely certain that I have to buy an english wheel and bash one off in a day or so.
