Probably a bit longer than you think.  Those t-56's in the viper have proven themselves pretty reliable.  There is some minor mods you can do that make them even stronger.

D&D Performance and Rockland Standard Gear beefs them up to hold up  1200 hp/ 1000lbs torque They are app 7K.
There is a bellhousing for the BB Chevy, and the new WP block has that pattern also, in additional to the BB mopar pattern.

friend's Father has a Viper making just shy of 1400hp and he is running a Rockland trans...    He says they are top notch
