It's funny that after the General Lee thread I should see this on Moparts. I respect that people have their own opinions, but always remember, the opinion is "yours".

No wonder Dodgecharger.com isn't in here.
I guess this is posted by Kenny Wayne Shepherd

KWS is probably a member here but he doesnt specifically mention dc.com.  chargerforums.com is an entirely different site.   :shruggy:

I have many times seem KWSs' Jennie Lee Charger here, I've never seen mention of his new Duster,..
Does anyone know if he actually built these cars?.. or does he just sign the checks?..  :shruggy:

Troy

KWS is a member here - but he hasn't been online in a while. When he was here he had to deal with everyone complaining about how he should have built his car. Well, that and he got married. Seems like a really nice guy from what little I communicated with him. I still want to see that car in person some day!
http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,424.0.html

EDIT: I take that back, he was online yesterday.

I've got a recent copy of popular hotrodding at home and his Duster is featured in the magazine.   There are pictures of him assembling the engine, so i assume he does some of the work himself.

That and anybody who likes the new Charger, lx platforms isn't gonna find much of a welcome here.  ;)

I agree Khyron.

I think you guys might be missing something here. More often I think the assessment of this board's collective attitude is exaggerated and more openly negative than the alleged bad attitude itself. Some people keep complaining about the supposed negativity here and yet as they do that they often get personal and say things about the other members that are far worse than anything said about any visitor or his car. Have you guys ever stopped to figure that in as a possible factor as to why some people supposedly don't stick around? Maybe a guy doesn't mind so much that so-and-so doesn't care for the color choice of his car or the way he decides to customize his interior but when some other members call the opinion-makers out for a huge infighting session, and five other "behavioral vigilantes" chime in trying to set them straight, the visitor sees a bunch of fighting and he leaves. Is that not possible? I see far more cutting remarks and put-downs aimed at members who make infrequent, innocuous comments about other people's cars than I do overt negativity toward new members. Quite often attitudes like that make me want to leave this site more than the attitude of those who are labeled trouble makers.

For example, Troy links a thread above where there's something like 40 responses to the "Extreme Lee" car and because maybe three of them say they don't like the wheels we're supposed to assume that's why KWS doesn't come here? If Kenny is that thin skinned I would recommend he never leave the house, answer the phone or watch TV. Maybe some people leave because they're afraid they're going to be lambasted by the higher ups for expressing anything that resembles an opinion.

BTW, isn't this Off Topic?

TUFCAT

I agree with Bull (....in parts) which is usually a-typical of me!!  I normally agree with him 100%.

What Bull didn't say is that people seem to be more well-behaved, more-welcoming, and more polite lately.  The trouble-makers have either toned it down, or left this site.

I do agree, with Bull, that some people should also have thicker-skin - - that's a given. But for the most part, the simple rule is just don't say anything here that you wouldn't say to someone's face! .  Better yet, if you feel like you have something to say..... and you know damn well  it will hurt someones pride or feelings, just don't say it.

Believe me, ....and I'm no Prince Charming either....., but this should be a fun place to learn, exchange info, and occasionally poke fun or take a "friendly jab" at a buddy  - as long as if it doesn't get out of hand.

You think people on Moparts like the General Lee more than people on this site? Not a chance.

The guy has been in major mags and probably never had to pay a dime to attend any Mopar event. If he gets ticked at opinions on a car built for him, well I would recommend thicker skin. He's probably got the most "accepted" GL out there. How he conducts himself in public is much better that John Schneider has been doing lately. At least Schneider and B-J are what brought this whole subject up, isn't it?

I'm a little shocked Kenny left out all the GL sites...and the '70 Registry.  :P

hemihead

If you mention your opinion that you don't like a color , wheels, year of car or (  lord forbid ) the GL , people get their panties in a bunch . Seems like if your opinion doesn't match theirs they get insulted and get personal . Some people need to grow up and don't let words bother them . Not everyone likes the same things .

I've exchanged PM's with Kenny Wayne too. He is a cool guy. His General Lee is one of the few GL's that I actually really like too. I mean, I'd drive it with pride :yesnod:

I agree......and I'll jump on that Bandwagon!!

Troy

I didn't say he left because of criticism - I said he had to deal with it when he was here. There's also more than one thread about the car (with a lot more on the old site). People come and go as their life and interests change. As I said, he got married and he obviously has other interests so he's got things going on outside of hanging around here - like building more/different cars. I can't honestly see why it's anyone else's business any way. ;)

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

I highly doubt that thread alone that Troy posted was the only example.

I agree thicker skin is needed to participate in some of these forums.  I really hate to stereotype but it's usually the folks who are new to the internet community who get their feelings hurt.

Hows you runner project?

Also.  I think Kenny is on here more than you all think.  Just because he doesn't post doesn't mean hes not on here. I think people are entitled to there own opinion. But some times that opinion needs to be kept to them self's. Kenny Seems like a way cool guy. I doubt he really cares if people don't like his car. If they don't. Thats their problem, Not Kenny's. I don't think that just because he is famous. We need threads about how he doesn't come on here. I know if I was famous and came on here and people were all star struck or whatever. I wouldn't be comfortable. Besides, There are lots of people registered for the site that don't come on, But I don't see people saying anything about them.     Just my  :Twocents:

I drove my F8 charger more often that I did than my other chargers I had at the time. They were all drivers, at one time I had 9, if I remember correctly, 1 yellow,1 white,1 orange,1 blue,4 green, two were F8, 1 red. GG1 green is my next favorite green. I loved my last R6 '69, but soon as I got it, I started seeing more R6 and got sick of it real quick again. My current car is Sassy Grass, A body, not a charger. As for the KWS charger, I think most of you know how I feel about the DOH charger.  I like the color of his car, but I wouldn't drive it w/the number and flag on the roof, I'd re-paint it first then drive it. I love the way the rest of the car is set up, let alone his new car, the Duster, thats badass!

I love all the haters and all of the controversy. I rarely mention it, but I have 2 69's. One is a Jenny Lee and the other is Blacker than black.

Amazing how star struck people are on this forum .They get excited over famaous people who own Mopars or even pictures of them near one .I . personally ,  could care less . If it was some regular guy , nobody would care how many people took shots at him . I'm not going to treat someone special because they think they are somebody .

If it's any consolation to you, I didn't know anything about Kenny Wayne Shepherd (except that he owned the Extreme Lee) until I read your post and looked him up on Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenny_Wayne_Shepherd :shruggy: I never looked into it before. I just figured he was some reality show car builder or something. Shows you what I know.

I took a couple of pics of the Duster at the Fall Fling show in November..I don't think I ever downloaded them from the camera.

Met Kenny a couple of times. He comes out to the Fling shows and rolls to some of the local LX events as well (he owns a Charger SRT 8 as well, for you haters) when he's not busy with his day job. Pretty cool dude, real MOPAR guy.

I don't understand either, but I've read plenty of post on this site that go "No, not another black charger." I love it. The only thing I don't like about it is it's so hard to keep clean. Just a little dust and it looks  bad. If it was up to me I'd paint them all black! ;D
