Now, you may ask what about the title of the thread.

Here goes;

Who here saw the Challenger go across the block late Saturday night?  Was anyone listening?  I don't know if there is a YouTube video or not but if there is, or if someone taped it, listen as the car is being rolled off the stage, still on the ramp.  In the background, bidding has stalled at $350,000.00 (I think) and they give the microphone to a lady (never even saw her) and she starts telling the crowd that the proceeds from the car are for charity.  She is getting no reaction and goes into a bit of a tirade.

"What's wrong with you people"

"Alcohol abuse, eating disorders"...........

I was not sure, and I am still not sure what charity the money was going to but I am wondering if it is for people with issues regarding alcohol abuse and eating disorders, if not, her comments must have been directed at the audience at the BJ auto auction!  They cut her off pretty quickly and I was wondering if they yanked the microphone outta her hand.   :shruggy:

Did anyone else catch this?

Does anyone know what charity the money from the sale of the Challenger was going to?

Does anyone know who the lady was blabbering into the microphone?

Wasn't that Goldberg's car? I think the women yelling was Craig Jackson's wife...what a lucky guy! I have it on my DVR, I'll have to go back and see it again.
I thought the same thing as I was watching....and had to change the channel.

The charity tied w/the Chally is www.notMYkid.org. It's amazing that the car sold so high when one could preorder one for so much less. I guess the higher # is better from a Mopar collector standpoint.

Is it possible she was referring to what assistance the charity provides for?  Then she may have been misunderstood a bit....( that is, if she was actually pointing out some of the "good stuff" this charity does).  Your point is well taken about the "What's wrong with you people" angry comment.  If she wasn't doing something nice (by working for a charity)....... I'd call her a real bitch -  - and that's being kind.

yes the charity was not my kid, to help children in need of help. if I'm not mistaken, Craig jackson bought the car for $450,000.00

Glad you brought this up. Im still trying to figure out if the guy won that actual car because as it was rolling off stage they said that his would be coming from a dealer when the cars come in?

I have all 40 hours of this years B-J on 6 VHS tapes now, so I will have to review that to see what she actually said.  I wasn't paying attention when that car finally sold as I had to go out to get a steak for supper.......

I havent used my VCR since the last time on needed to watch Blazzing Saddles, since they dont show much of the movie on TV anymore.

Craig won the first production model of the new Chally. The car on the block was the concept.

I saw it and I remember when she said it.The BJ were begging all weekend on alot of different vehicles.

It is bad when high 6 figures for 1 vehicle is simply "not enough" to a least help support a worthy cause. :rotz:

Well I don't know how many times they said this during the weekend auction. "This car is worth way more than its at right now. Its easily a $1 Million car." If it was a $1 Million car then it would have been bought for that, instead of $350K. Hence its a $350K car not a Million dollar car.
