Stripping vs. Soda Blasting

Hi Guys, I know that this is a popular topic, but I am just completing my sheet metal on my 69 RT/SE and I have a few questions that you might be able to help me with. Can someone explain how this E Coating works, is it a dipping process or is it more like a powder coat. I take it that E stands for electrostatic. If that is the case then it will not adhere to any type of body filler. So you would end up taking it off where you did any finish filler, am I right? Does anyone know of any dipping/E-coating businesses in the upper midwest(MN,IA,SD)? Thanks in Advance.   Dan

Well, the stripping will remove any filler and the e-coat goes on bare metal afterwards. It is a dipping process and should be done before you apply filler, filler primer, skim coat, etc. but after the metal work (welding, straightening, etc.). It is electrostatic and bonds to the metal.
