but one question... what is rake???

Looking at the side profile of the car it is the amount that it is nose down.  Passenger cars are typically level and Top Fuel Funny Cars generally have a great deal of "rake".

cool read. You can see a lot of the clamps in the pic.

WANTED: NOS or excellent condition 72-74 4 speed shifter boot for bench or centre armrest car, part number 3467755. It's a rubber boot that looks like it's sewn up leather.
