Does anyone have a picture of the D12 option on the 1970 Dodge Chargers with a 318 engine???   I found a car with this option, but the interior does not look right to me.  If anyone has one that I can compare, that would be great.

Thanks

Chris G.

This is gonna be a tuffy. We currently only have two D12 cars registered. Both are XH 318 cars. I put out an email to one of the owners. If he sends me pictures, I'll post 'em.

BTW, CHound69, please be sure and register that car ASAP.

I will let you know when I go to pick it up tonight.  So far I am just going off what the guy is telling me and the picture my buddy took.  Will the D12 be on the fender tag??

Just 6T9 CHGR

Yes...right next to the engine code on the lower left of the tag
For ex E44 D12

If it is a real D12 car it's very rare.......but it's one of those rarities that most average folks wouldn't care much about. I think it would be very cool to see another one surface. Just like slant six 70 Chargers......I think they are cool in their rarity.

Let's see some pix  :scope:

That would be pretty neat, but still would be kind of laim.

I remember a slant 6 70 in a yard around here back around 1991.   Popped the hood and laughed with all the room under there!   :icon_smile_big:

This is a stick shift on the floor.  I got all the way to this guys house and he could not find the keys to open the door.  He says it is all original, but the fender tag is gone.  I asked him if it was a D12 code this afternoon and he said YES.  If there is NO fender tag, how does he know that????

I don't know about this car.  It must be changed.  A 318 with a stick shift on the floor.  That is why I hate camara phone's.  My buddy took a picture of this car with his phone, I didn't even see a stick shift on the floor.

It was nicknamed the "D12 Griswold Option" - you could put an extra suitcase in there for road trips!

You guys really only have 2 70 chargers registered that are a 3 speed on the column? I'll do some looking around here but I had a 70 Charger that was a 225/6 that was a 3 on the tree. I think I have the fender tag info around here somewhere. Shouldn't be hard to find it will be one of only a few that isn't for a 500 or a Daytona.
