With a dented roof....!!! Who would stand on a ROOF? I saw the roof skin bulging under his feet.  Great way to sell a car!  :eek2:

It was like watching Jerry Lewis on Labor Day - - just Patehetic!!   :hah:

lol yeah i was screaming at him for the roof.. crickets when he sang the song. i felt awkward for that minute. made me wish i had one again just for a moment though.. i think his reserve on ebay was $500,000.. $450k seems like a good sell to me, considering it has no REAL major history

Yes standing on the roof, what a putz so maybe that is why the car sold for that little compared to the 10 Million the foolish people would bid for on E-bay, $450,000 still a little too much for it (in my own opinion)

justin1987

He got a hell of a lot more than I thought. I was guessing he would get around $150,000 for it.

Yeah, he was trying to pump up the crowd to no avail....they didn't seem to give a shit. The car was pretty much a TURD up close.  Somebody bought a rough Hemi clone for 450 grand!!  :smilielol: :smilielol: :smilielol:

I'm still  :smilielol: about how long it took them to open the hood.  Yes, him singing was quite corny and I thought that standing on the car should lower the price some.........

Why would he be so STUPID  to stand on the ROOF as if that would help sell the car? I don't think I saw one person help with the song either. What a F*#%ing JOKE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's a 60K car tops IMO. It's a privately owned car of a guy who has never made a name for himself other than this car (not the show). I'd love to see the new owner try and market this as something worth looking at.

I'm calling whoever bought the car CRAZY. $450K for a cheaply done clone of a HEMI car. Okay maybe not cheaply done, but why spend 4 times the amount on that car than you could have picked up any number of REAL HEMI cars today? HEMI Charger 500 for $165K, HEMI cuda's for $150K, HEMI 70 R/T, or the HEMI 500 yesterday.

I congratulate John on the amount, but Damn that was rediculous!  IMO there is no way in hell that car is worth more than a Real Hemi 500 or even the Real Monkee mobile. It's not like it is James dean's Porsche or something  notorious like that. It was an inacurate replica that had a cameo in a couple of tv spots and on tv movie, and then starred in one very low budget film. Doesn't make a half a mil car in my book. Hell if he could pull this off that would be a heck of a living, he'd sell one car at B-J once a year and pocket at least 300K.

Is there a youtube of this? :shruggy:

I'd like to see it too :yesnod:. I was watching BJ until the Monster Garage crap came on, then I switched it to FOX and then I put it back to BJ...its still on upstairs but yea, I think $450k was a good deal...deffntley less than the $1 mill he "got" on ebay

Maybe the new owner will get slapped with reality and realize how many of these he could have had built for $450,000.  :coocoo:

As a celebrity car... it shouldn't have gone for much more than the Goldberg 'Cuda.      The only redeeming factors in it's favor are part of the proceeds went to an Autism charity.    I thought it was stopping at $200K.   I'm sure there was some hanky panky involved in getting it up that high.

It's got a decent history... certainly as a General it's worth more than some other heaps.   Whatever.   It's was certainly run hard and put away wet.

Maybe if Bo wouldn't have made that crappy Collier movie he wouldn't have to sell it.

Never underestimate the power of nostalgia.

....combined with some marketing!

I was blown away at the selling price, just blown away.

I wouldn't have paid $25K for that thing . Just because some celebrity owns it doesn't impress me in the least . Another fool and his money part .  :hah:

I still think the $10mil incident probably left that car worth less than if it had never even happened.  Instead of being recognized as "Bo Duke's personal GL," now it's "the infamous car that wasn't really worth the huge bid."

Schnider should have skipped the Ebay stunt and just sold that thing at B-J about two years ago when the DOH movie had inflated the price of everything painted orange.

Still, $450K doesn't surprise me one bit.

Perhaps $60K in raw hardware + VERY famous star car + the main human star's personal well-known example + Barrett-Jackson = good money.

The car is too scruffy for B-J but it's actually a pretty well-setup car for what it tries to be.  Aruzza stroker Hemi, GVOD, 4.10 Dana, 4-wheel discs, Hotchkiss F&R sway bars, 6-point cage, aluminum rad, etc.  You could do a lot worse building a streetable Charger road racer.

The70RT

I wonder if he ever tried to contact any other bidders on eBay? I bet he thought it was gonna hit the big time at B.J's  :pity:

I don't know any extra secrets about this issue, but the fact that Schnieder didn't ultimately sue for the money has made plenty of people wonder if that huge bid was an inside job.

Schnider's not normally the type for that kind of major monkey business.  But then again it's hard to imagine being gypped out of $10 million and not trying very hard to chase it down with a lawyer.  If the guy was allowed to bid for $10 million then he must technically have posessed that much, right?

Either way, this rumor will probably never be settled.

You wouldn't pay $25,000 for a 1969 Charger with a HEMI engine? Ignoring the paint job and the idiotic antics, in hardware alone I think it was worth north of $40,000. Now was it worth more than the legit Charger 500's that earlier went for $110,000 and I think $140,000? Hell to the NO!

SFRT

when they try to flip the car the 'real Schnieder foot dents in roof!!!!' will be a major selling point.

As far as my opinion goes, someone was just ripped off for about 400,000.  (is there a big yawn smiley?)
