Hi!

Im new to the board. Ill be posting a lot as I make progress on my 69 Hemi Charger Restoration.

i just got it last year. Its all numbers matching, engine has 20k miles and the body has around 66k miles.

However, I will perform a complete resto on it since the car had seen a restoration attempt and sat unassembled for about 15 years!

I bought the car in Venezuela.

Im posting a link to another board cause I cant attach my pics here...seems theyre too big....

It seems there's a fair amount of Hemi cars lurking out there in Central America. I just read about a 66 Hemi Charger being brought back to the states out of Peru.

Was the paint that shiny under all that dust, or are those clean pics after you had it painted?

Nice score, congrats!

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

RTSE: Premium Gas is about 6 bucks a gallon here!!!! Ouch!!!!

Yes, car was all nice and painted ready for assembly when I bought it buty in order to get it through customs without paying much taxes I wetsanded the clear to make it look like old dull paint...but they didnt strap the car well inside the container and it banged around inside the container...ruining the paintjob and causing some sheetmetal damage...its light and I can fix it no problem, but still it pissed me off....but I got it out of venezuela and into peru, so that was the main thing....it was a njightmare to get the car out of venezuela, It took almost 5 months!!!!

domingo

Oh and yes, lots of mopars down here....but many have fled overseas....just like the 70 Challenger RT U code 4 speed on that pic and my friend's 67 hemi charger.

I own quite a few myself...but they are all projects....save for my Vanishing Point replica Challenger....which I had to sell due to a business gone bad in order to pay debts left at my end!!!  :icon_smile_angry:

WoW!!! Great find and looks like an easy enough project... stance looks wicked with the larger wheels/tires... might have to think about something like that on mine to keep the steelie/dog dishes safe...

Can't wait to see updated pics!
