Most definitely max wedge.  Several years ago I toyed with the idea of putting together a max wedge motor for the Daytona in lieu of the standard-fare HP440.  Those are some stout engines, even with A/C...

So how many dealer installed A/C Superbirds are there? I have a friend who has a B5 blue one that is an unrestored car as well. Bare bones car though other than the dealer installed A/C. I think he picked it up about 4 years ago now, can't remember exactly when. 440 4bbl, AT on the column car with a bench seat.

You will never know how many there are.It was just something the owner did if he wanted a/c.There are eleven Superbirds within a 80mi. radius of me.One of those has dealer installed a/c.Owner never used it because it ran hot with the a/c on.

I'll agree that we will never know exactly how many had it at one time, but how many are known of today that had it? I guess that would be a better way to put it.

Doesn't seem like a bad deal on a 426 Max Wedge even if it comes with a boat anchor.

Yeah Its been available for a couple years and my body man cant find anybody who wants to buy it. And he goes to body shops in four states for work. You could make some money back by scraping the trailer its homemade out of steel.

You heard wrong.The marine engine is a solid lifter motor but there is where it ends.

A single engine in a boat turned the same direction as a street engine. A boat with 2 engines side by side has one turn the opposite the other for torque cancellation. If both turned the same direction, the boat would tip to one side abruptly. I worked on marine craft for 6 years....hated the mess with serviceing the engines.

Worked on a number of "reverse rotation" 318's & 440"s......had to rebuild a couple of 331 Hemis in a boat that sunk....

Ah so it was only in a boat that had 2 engines that one turned the opposite direction. So I guess I had heard partialy correct. Man, what fun it would be though to have a boat with twin 426 Max Wedge's on. Do you think it would have enough get up and go to do some tubing behind the boat?
