I talked to 440source, they told me they are working on making the Mopar MEGA block, and the heads too. That is what I am waiting for!!! They said expect them late this year, or the begining of next year!!

I didnt know they were going to do some race heads also?  I knew about the upcoming block though.

Sorry Mally. I am too tired to read all the way back. Is this motor using hydraulic or solid lifters? 1-2 threads is the norm. If hydraulic you may need to pump up the lifters.

It is pouring down rain here today or I would have that thing on the road for a test drive. I  just can't wait to drive it with these heads on it  :coolgleamA:

I received my heads and have them bolted on and torqued down.  Does anyone have the torque specs for the Rocker Arm assembly?  Also, just ot confirm, the head bolts should be torqued to 70ftlbs correct?  Can't wait to get it all together.

mally69

The ARP bolts that I bought with my heads say on the paper that came with them that its 75 ftlbs. with the arp assembly lube and 85 ftlbs if you use oil. so i have mine at 85 ftlbs also the rocker assemble should be 25ft lbs I beleive.

While I am at it, a Chevy driving friend of mine told me I should retorque the heads again after driving it about 25 miles.  Is this true?

defiance

Really?  I'd always heard that torque should be dropped about 10 pounds for alum heads? (~65)

mally69

The paper from ARP didnt say anything about those torque specs being for alum or cast it just gave the specs.  :shruggy:

I just talked to Kim at 440Source and he recommends 70ftlbs for these heads using oil.

Maybe they should be then. I just did what the paper said to do. Maybe those number's on the ARP paper meant with cast iron heads. Sorry. :-\

I took the beast for a ride today and WOW  :woohoo: :woohoo: .. What a difference. The old setup was the 906's with the cam advanced. This setup has the cam at 0 and the stealth heads. and there is a MAJOR difference in power, I love it.. I still have some timing adjustiment's and jetting to do, so there is room for more improvment..  :2thumbs:  I just thought I would share that litttle bit of info.   ;)

Will do that :2thumbs:  I have to wait for the track to open its winter here :brickwall: .. Hope I am in the 12's. It sounds more throaty with the cam at 0 compared to advanced.. advanced it had a high pitched scream.  Or the heads could have changed the sound.  :shruggy:
