I was grocery shopping the other day and stopped by the magazine rack. On the cover of Lethargic Mustang Monthly was the new Bullitt Mustang. I flipped through it and in the the feature they had a picture of the new Bullitt Mustang being followed by a new black Charger R/T.

Anyone see this?

I think it was also in one of the Car And Driver issues too but yes, I've seen the one you are talking about

That was a while ago that an article like that was in C&D but if they are owned by the same publisher it could easily be a repeat or even just the same photos.  I saw it on the rack as well but didn't have the patience to pick it up and look at it.

This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Doesn't 4 scoops, 5 spoilers, & 1 wing qualify as ghetto?  :shruggy:

What a joke the BULLITT is.  315HP, some emblems and other cosmetics...are they for real?  How much of a price difference is the GT compared to the BULLITT?   Kind of reminds me of the Daytona and Super Bee packages they have for the new Charger.  All show and no go.

I hada 2001 Bullitt and it was a decent car. There was actually quite a bit of differences between it and a GT. The engine had a new intake manifold (actual manifold - not just a cold air pipe) and underdrive pullies. The cat back exhaust had better mufflers. The suspension had different struts, shocks, springs and sway bars. Everything else was cosmetic

A couple of things I noticed...
IMO the Mustang's styling embarrasses the Charger's. Plus it was nice to see a performance car without all the plastic fairings and wings. (I say this and I own a Ram Daytona) I hope this is a trend.

That particular article had 9 pictures of the front of the car and none of the side or back end. (one of my pet peeves...don't they look at what they publish?)

I just checked the Ford build/price website and the Bullitt package adds $3310. It includes 18" wheels, 3.73 limited slip rear, cold air intake, leather seats, a more agressive engine program, upgraded suspension/brakes/exhaust, etc. As long as there is no dealer mark up on them, you could get one for around $32,000, or about the same as a new Charger R/T. Personally, I'd take the 2-door Mustang over the 4-door Charger...

Find Sir Mix-A-Lot's old-school rap, "My Hoop-D" and you will know.

Once again the competion builds a badass car and Dodge is playing catch up. Its almost saddening that Dodge is behind, but, look who's been running the show.

Hey, you can hate the game but don't hate the player.
