1971 Airgrabber Hood Hinge Question?

Anyone know if there is a difference between the hood hinges ( amount of spring coils) on a Superbee or R/T hood versus an Airgrabber Hood? I bought an AG hood but didnt know if there was any difference in the hinges? Want my set up to be as correct as possible. Thanks and I love this website.

Im not 100% sure but I dont see any reason why there would be different hinges.  I think they only did that on cars like the E-bodies with the fiberglass hoods.

The hinges are NOT different. My 71 is an original 'Grabber car and they are the same as a flat hood....

According to my parts manual, ALL Coronet-Charger hinges are the same PN.
Spring PN for 4dr and wagon is 3586093
Spring PN for Coronet-Charger w/o fresh air is 3586092
Spring PN for Charger w/fresh air is 3586092

Both springs are the same PN......So where are you getting your info from?

if anything, the fresh air hood is slightly heavier then the flat hood and just about the same as an R/T or Superbee.....

Not necessarily wrong.I bet they have different printing dates.Mine is Chrysler Canada Apr 72

on certain date, spring were changed.They had some teeth on inner section on earliers, so that could it be the reason for diff PN

I wondered about this as well. My 70 Road Runner is an air grabber car and the hinge springs don't seem strong enough to me. If I start the car with the hood open it starts to close.

i think that's a worn out sping or a spung one/hinge . this hood has an air grabber grafted in and it's longer , still has standard 70 b-body hinges.

It doesnt really make any sense that a car with a hole cut in the hood would have different springs anyway.  Unless its fiberglass, its basically the same hood.

I used hinges off a flat 73 hood for my air grabber set up and I have had no problems so far.  they have been on there about a year now.

You have the added weight of the Air Grabber stuff.... I have my original springs and they were the same as regular flat hood springs as far as I can tell. It was an early build car (sept 70). They are at the body shop with the car so i can't take any pictures right now, but I will the next time I go for a visit.
