Anyone know the date of the auto show where Dodge will reveal the production Challenger?

Is it the Detroit auto show?

Does this bumper make my Butt look fat?..

the cars being officially shown next week in chi town by the way..

I like it. I know they flattened it out a bit, changed a couple things here and there - but I think the changes make it look more like a modern car designed *for* that platform from the start - not another body just slapped on there. I didn't at first, but I think it is better than the concept. And they kept the front end proportions. I am very pleased to see they left the crosshair out of the grill.

Gets  :2thumbs: from me. :)

I think I'm pretty sure this will be the next "new" car that I buy - but I'll definitely be waiting until the '09 model yr at least to see what kind of "limited production" models they come out with (i.e. Challenger T/A)... unless I'm disappointed with the performance overall, then I'm going back to my original idea for my next car ('96-99 Viper GTS)...

Ditto.
I still got a hankering for a 1994-97 Dodge Viper RT/10. The prices have come down significantly, and will likely rebound out of the stratosphere once the collector community starts to see these cars as collectable....which should be shortly.

:iagree:  i think '96 was the first year for 5 spoke rims, and that beautiful blue color with white stripes.  the three spoke rims were ugly. :Twocents:

Yep - and on the Dodge website, it also mentions the slushbox - which is a deal killer for me! No 6-speed = no challenger in my garage.... Again, I'm going to wait for the '09 model year and see if there's anything worth buying then, but if they decide to stay away from a stick, I'm staying away from the dealer...

Ditto! I really want a '96 GTS - Blue/white stripes - less than 10-15k miles for mid-high $40's... And once I have one, it won't leave my hands for a long time!  Always been my "new-age" dream car!

I'm not claustrophobic, but the interior, with the seats and the console in that picture look really confining.

here's proof their gonna offer a stick...  Odds are ther'll be one offered in the LXs and LYs too...

Crazy Larry

So what is the verdict - were the road-test Challengers in the spy photos the same car that was unveiled?

I think it looks like the same car.
