Interesting, I just noticed how the hood is more like the E-body 'Cuda or first gen camaro hood, where there is a valance above the grille at the front of the hood, unlike the original Challenger hood which didn't have that part.

are you actually going to buy this car though?. for that kinda' money I'd get the original...

Just wondering where you're going to find a fully restored Challenger w/Hemi for around $40K.  I wish it was priced less but don't think that it's out of line either.

It's snowing here in northern Alberta...and currently -22C outside.
Which means I'm stuck indoors. And when I'm stuck indoors, generally I have a project on the go to kill time.
Today, it was a 2009 Challenger with a Shaker hood, done in Adobe Photoshop.
can you do a shaker car with a convertible top ( That what i'm waiting for )

Good Point..
so I'm not really in the 2 door pony car market, and your point is well taken...

I just prefer the original E-bodys on purely aesthetic grounds,.. I doubt I'd want a HEMI, more likely a 340 or SB ideally I'd like a T/A or AAR but to be sure those are in stratospheric money land...
I'm just saying, to buy a "New" car I'd probably want/have to have a four door with a rear seat that folds into the trunk, because that is such a practical feature that for a daily driver I'd have to have it,..  I'm spoiled because in my 3,800 Lb. daily driver
I have my mountain bike and three 8 inch woofers and a a 1000 watt Amp plus their enclosure in my '99 LH's trunk and i still get groceries in there, back seat is still fully avail. too...
I don't think that's possible with the chally or even the latest Charger or 300. their trunks are a couple inches narower dispite being a few hundred Lbs. heavier.
I'll concider a Magnum next year seeing as they are that much more practical having a deeper and higher load space, but it's possible a SUV like a Grand Cherokee or even a Toyota FX will enter the equation... just cause of shorter overall length and added practicality,..
for me the downfall to the SUV or any high vehicle is they don't swoop around too well I much prefer a low center of gravity when it comes to vehicle dynamics.
But I don't concider this new Chally that attractive,.. to me it looks a bit too puffy, lacks the athletic looks of the original and is bound to be heavy.
In my opinion.

Note To Dodge: If you'd bring out a Knockout like the Original Charger's first or second Generation, I'd HAVE to buy it...  :yesnod:

OK, here's the first shot at a convertible. No shaker hood on this one though. Probably later (as my hands thaw out).

Possibly something to do with the new European pedestrian safety standard, which is driving the new blunt front look.

Does this bumper make my Butt look fat?..

the cars being officially shown next week in chi town by the way..

Ghoste

Not nearly as fat as the four door version.  :D

AirborneSilva

Don't know about your bum, and don't want to know  ;),  but the bum on that challenger doesn't look bad at all, I just wish they would have put in the cross hairs in the grill...

Magnumcharger

My ONLY complaint with this design of the new Challenger (and I blame the damn Germans!) is the slab-sides!
No feature lines, an almost vertical drop, and the greenhouse portion of the upper body looks too small in comparison to those Deutsches Armee Panzer Behälterbataillon design features!!

So with a quick blast through Photo-shop I sectioned the body, and to me the car is much sleeker....and less massive!

And here's an SE version too.
