The Chally uncovered..

IIRC, the new chally is an LY chassis based off a shortened version of the LX platform, weighing ~3900LB(LX ~4200lb). IIRC, the new GT500 is ~3900lb. What are the dimensions of the '68-'70 B body Vs. the LX?

I was talking to one of the engineers that has been working on the Challenger a few months back.  He couldn't say a whole lot but did mention some of the changes that had to be made for the production model and they were incidental things.  He did say look for some stripe packages like they had in the 70's.

BTW: I like these large four doors..

roush challenger's ?

That would be strange........Ford wouldn't take it too lightly since he pretty much has been with Ford since day one. He also would have to switch to Dodge in NASCAR and I don't see that happning.

Not LY. (LC) based off of the LX platform. (LY) is the next gen LX and is due MY2010. I think (LS) will be based off a shortened version of the LY platform.

They said with the concept car that the tires interferred with the body on every little bump . That is the reason for the wheel / tire change .
Also , can't anyone design a front end without using an 800 lb big , ugly plastic bumper ? What ever happened to a front valance ?
You can use all the musclecar names and stripes you want but they won't get my money for an overweight pig like that .

actually those plastic front bumpers are  light, they're basicly hollow with a honeycomb structure and designed to give and inch or so before they contact the renforcments behind, which are quite heavy...
one problem with alot of the SRT cars are how low they are, look at them, if you drive nose in and hit a curb, it's costly to repair,.. even my 300 M is very low in front, and I allways back in cause the rear is pretty high, look how low the chally is in front with that spoiler,.. that's gonna be a problem..

Those pics look much better than that photoshopped camo-removed silver pic in the other thread that's for sure.

I'm stunned there is no crosshair in the grill. It's awesome :)

Think it would have been a tiny bit better if they could have had a nice continuous quarter, without that seam where the molded rear bumper starts, but other than that I think it's pretty good.

Seems the tailpipes are now up into the rear valance, vs some other spy shots posted here... did they extend the valance (and black it out) or bring the pipes up?

Looks good though.

Rumor has it that "EVERY" Challenger youve seen that is suppose to be new is still the CONCEPT. The production will be unveiled at the Chicago auto show in Febuary...I think thats the month. That being said, the production Challenger has not been seen yet.

Wow, That car seems really low to the ground. Hate to come up on a high manhole cover with that. Trying to keep it from looking too truck-like tall? Is that normal?

The flip top fuel cap is enough to sell me.....it's about time Dodge jumps into the retro craze.

It's only been 10 years since I last saw the "new" Dodge Charger concept and salivated.

Finally, something to be excited about now that these production photos show they can keep the concept pretty much in tact.

Good to go.

It's snowing here in northern Alberta...and currently -22C outside.
Which means I'm stuck indoors. And when I'm stuck indoors, generally I have a project on the go to kill time.
Today, it was a 2009 Challenger with a Shaker hood, done in Adobe Photoshop.
