Holy Christ Cody - do you think that anyone here cares that you and the guy from Children of Sodomy have some things in common?  I mean really, who cares how many times per day you yank it!

Please keep in mind that the average age of the members of this site is a lot older than 13 (I'm just guessing here) - so you probably won't get a lot of responses like:

Wow Cody - that is sooo cool that you and Alexi started playing guitar at age 11!

or

Like OMG - I'd love to open up for Metalica also!

I wouldn't be surprised if a mod deletes the above post because.....well, just becasue!

It's true though. Sometimes I think he posts stuff just to see his own posts. Kinda like talking to himself. Just look at the Member's Charger's thread. He posts about 3 times average to every new post in the forum. I rarely look at some posts anymore because it's getting old.

Cody, I'm not trying to be a ass here, It is good that you are here on the forum learning about cars, instead of out doing drugs or something stupid. But, you need to realize it is annoying to a lot of us that are more then 10 years older then you, when you post stuff like that. You are a great kid and can be fun to have around, but understand you don't need to respond to EVERY post on the forum multiple times. Especially posting with trivial stuff that only matters to teenagers. Just realize, I'm guessing the average ages on the forum is around 35 to 40 or so.

And Megadeth is the only band I heard of.

New metal to me lacks taste in a lot of cases. Half of the lead singers can't sing anymore, even though the music is good. There is some bands I do like and or know. But unless it is in the '80s/early '90s sounding metal style, it doesn't appeal to me. I know almost every band from 10 to 35 years ago though.  ;)

Look, I'm not bashing anyone here, and at 42, I'm definately not one of the kids.  But I have kids of my own and one of them is near Cody's age, so I think its fair to say that I can understand where he's coming from, as well as understand where the other adults on this board are coming from.

Cody is just entering his teens.  Its a tough time for a boy.  Puberty is kicking in to full swing, zits are popping out all over just as you start wanting to get girls to notice you more and you generally feel pretty awkward.  But he is excited and pationate about cars, music and probably a few other things, and he want's to share his excitement with his friends.  And he obviously considers us as some of his friends (or at least people he can talk to).  So whats wrong with that?

This is not the first post I've seen bashing Cody, and I've yet to see a post where he's bashed one of us.  Maybe he has and I missed it, but I haven't seen it.  And he also keeps it clean, which is more that I can say for some of us adults.

The kids OK in my book.  :coolgleamA:

I have a 13 year old son. So I know where he is coming from. Trust me :P

And I still love Hard rock and metal at 43. It wasn't so much about that, it was the other stuff that got me going. Early morning + tired and still waking up = rant.

Personally, I think it is lame that someone would actually take the time to post on here that they have so much in common as some guitarist that no one has ever heard off - it seems so high schoolish - sorry!

Hell, I can tell that none of you actually read the bio (my whole point) and have simply chosen to chastise me for speaking my mind, which is fine, I can handle it.   :icon_smile_wink:

Megadeth are past their prime. IMHO they peaked with Marty Friedman. I like some of COB's stuff. The part I have a hard time with is some of the synth content. They get some great guitar sounds just to have the moment spoiled by some silly Casio flute sound. I am not totally against synths in metal. Faith No More and Fear Factory found a nice context for it.

No offense taken, I know the names of the bands are pretty out there like Pluto, but believe it or not the music is uplifting. If this helps, The Devil Wears Prada is a Christian metal band. :D

Some people find pleasure in dark music. I know I do. I always have. I know I am not alone. I still am far younger than the oldest guy at Slayer concerts. I used to be told it was a 'phase' of rebellion as a youth. I am a bigger fan today than ever.

My brother is 50 and he is alwys up front in the pit at the shows, the last time Slayer came to town he gave the younger guys a run for the money in the pit. Me, I stay away from the pit.

The only Megadeth album I ever really bought was Cryptic Writings when it came out.  I still like that one quite a bit.

I like all of Megadeth's old stuff, and even some of the newer stuff. Motopsycho was kind of a cool song.  InFlames is a kick ass band to. I doubt I'll go though.

Really wish Friedman & Eleffson were still with'em. Love to see what I consider "the original lineup", but its over for that.
