What is with kids and all the school shootings these days? Its getting pretty stupid now. 5 schools in BC had threats written on various locations in the schools. One school was mine. Somebody wrote on the bathroom wall of my school that they are gonna bring a gun to school tomorrow (the threat was found before Xmas break) and shoot 50 or so kids. Like this is getting ridiculous. :RantExplode: Just if anybody is wondering, thats why I'm at home. My mom doesn't want me to go to school today, tomorrow and Thursday

happend at my school too, just thought of it as a idiotic threat.
life's a garden, dig it.

Its sorta odd. My sister goes to the middle school down the street and apparently her principle came on the speaker today and said that he suggests kids don't go to school tomorrow because of the incident at the high school down the street (my school). Yet, my principle says that he expects kids to come to school. :shruggy:

I work at a school so let me take a stab at it. My take is..........parents, some parents that is. I work with LD students and some are legit and have learning disabilities. Some others just act like jerkoffs and they don't want to learn nothing because either they never did or they think they know it all. I hear their story's all day long sometimes and hear crap and who knows what's true and what's bs. So you have to watch out what you do with some information. Most of these kids have dirtbag parents and the kids basically do what they wanna do. Some don't have parents and live wherever. A couple weeks ago a girl left her purse laying on a table and I took it to the security office and they found a knife in it. About 3 weeks ago a kid that I work with had a knife too. A couple days later one of our security guards was escorting a student to jail because she was at school when she was suspended and was jumped by a 16 & 17 year old students and was beaten and stabbed.  Luckily he was hospitalized and released but was there getting stitches and ice packs. One of our staff had to go out and was the blood off the sidewalk. That's just as of late. I remember a few years ago we found bullet holes in one of our restroom stalls and one in our pass. elevator. Anyway sorry about the  :RantExplode:  but it starts with the parents and It isn't ever gonna change.  :Twocents:

What I am saying if you broadcasted every rumor you heard or read at school It would freak everyone out and no kids would ever go to school and that's why a lot of kids do it.

parents are not "allowed to discipline" their children today without the worry of re procussions for doing so!! If discipline is not understood at home, who is going to make this generation understand? All my dad had to say to me when i was mis behaving was, "Don't make me get the belt".  :icon_smile_blackeye:

Here is a few thing you can do,that i assume that is not going to be done at the bodyshop.
1.Remove seat tracks, clean, paint, grease, put on shelf.
2.remove steering column rebuild,paint.
3.remove dash,strip,repaint.
4.remove window regulators clean re lube.
5.remove heater box, restore put on shelf.
6.remove taillights clean, polish put in storage.
7.remove seat belts clean.
8.remove grill repair, that in itself is a big time consuming job.
The reason i list these items is because my car was at the bodyshop for 22 months and that is what i did and i still have a ton of things left to do. :yesnod:
so when you run out of things to do i will write you another list.  :nana:
just trying to put thing into prospective.

That may be some of it but that's why you disciplne them when they are little then you don't have that problem later. If you act like your scared of them then yeah they will rule the roost. If one of my kids turned me in for making them mind then they would be somewhere else then and you knew you did all you could.

Some is picked up on the outside no matter what you do, I grounded my son 15-16 for a problem and wouldn't back down and I can NEVER be sure but I think  some kid offered to plug me so I told my son  to tell kid I was in VIet Nam and that I would be the most unpleasant experience he ever met and  that ended their (friendship) right there. I am  certainly glad nothing ever happened.

what is it with kids?  nobody will let them do anything or go anywhere by themselves and what do you think will happen when they finally get a moment or two of freedom?  people have given up home discipline so society has responded by taking away any freedom that any kid ever had.  it's a losing battle.  Every new rule, regulation, etc... is a solution to a problem.  it's way easier to prevent the problem.

why do you think that someone somewhere invented the phrase "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure"?  because it is.  Try putting out a forest fire with a garden hose.  it's a lot easier to just put away the matches in the first place. The responses by the "man" or the "establishment" are about as effective as closing the barn door after the horse got out.  It would be way easier for parents to put the video games away for an hour or 2 per day and actually interact with thier kids and show them you love them by disciplining them.

The result is kids that are out of control and the rest of us have to try to clean up the mess.  How else do you explain that once or twice a year I am out on my street at 3am in my underwear telling a group of kids to shut the ....up?  because if thier parents gave half a crap, they would have instilled some sense of consideration for others in them.  and if the cops bring them home for such a minor offense, no punishment at all.  If i would have done that, I'd still be walking funny to this day.

More ass-whoopins and less time outs.  I think it all started with the PC crowd around the late 80's early 90's. If I got in trouble at school, the coach would spank my ass with a huge paddle about 6 or 8 times.  Then the school would call my dad and then he'd whoop my ass again when I got home.  Needless to say, I didn't do a lot of stupid sh#t at school or around the house.  Don't get me started on this crap.

I remember when I was in middle school at a military school up north where they were REALLY proud of the fact that they practiced corporal punishment.  My History teacher was also the football coach and gym teacher...big ol' meatheaded jock type.  One day, one of my classmates (8th grade BTW) wasn't paying attention and the teacher whacked him in the head.  This guy...who weighed all of 160 pounds got up and beat the coach so bad he put him in the hospital...I mean "coach" went limp and this kid was still wailin' on him.  It took 10 of us to drag him off the teacher.

After coach came back, I don't think he ever slapped ANYONE again.  My classmate got expelled, but he wound up going to public school and graduating.  Las I heard, he was a reasonably successful financial planner.

I still smile when I think about coaches' face when Joe stood up.

My dad told me about one of his school incidents. I dont remember what he did but his teacher hit him in the side of the head (right on the ear) with a ruler and blood starting coming out of my dad's ear. He ran out of the class and ran to his dad's work down the street. His dad came back, talked to the principle and the teacher got a suspension.
