I remember those things!!!!  I pretty much abused and destroyed mine (hey I was 8 yrs old).  Funny story - don't set a running stomper in your sister's long hair.  My sister got a new hair cut to remove it, and I got a butt whipping .  Good luck with the search - try ebay.

I've got several. Have a few of the originals from when I was a kid and then maybe 6-8 years ago they remade them and I bought several more. Those things were cool and proved hours of fun for me as a kid. My cousin had the sled pulling unit for them ad we would load up the sled with nuts and bolts and have pull offs all summer long in the basement.  Seems kids now want remote control stuff and they dont want to get down in the dirt and play.

I'll dig them out and get some pics. I even have a Stomper Semi truck!

Thanks guys.  I have a few and also just bought a few off of Ebay.  But I am looking at getting a small collection.  I have 3 tanks, 2 Tractor trailors. A peterbuilt wrecker. a crane. And lots more.  I will also get pics.  I used to have allot more but have lost allot of it.  I also had a pulling truck set.  But a few years ago I sold it :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall:

I got kicked out of the 4th Grade Stomper Pull-Offs for "cheating". Mine had a pendant from one of those cheap remote control cars that held 4 "AA" batteries. The motor had winding wire from 3 additional motors added to the comm. You couldn't put enough weight in the sled and counter weight to slow it down. Strangely enough, stripped worm gears were a fairly regular occurrence. I still can't figure out why? :scratchchin: I still have an original pulling set in the box and a home-made one from backin the day. The home-made one came from the remains of a plastic farm implement playset.

I have a bunch of them.  I tried to get one of every color in each model and then I had the ones I modified.  I built a 4 door crew cab with two motors, one for the front and one for the rear.  I also built a pulling sled in metal shop before they came out with the plastic ones.  The manufactured ones were better cause you could load the front up with lead to help pulling.  I also put thin strips of U shaped metal inside where the gears sat to keep them from melting due to heat.  Also didn't mess around with the small batteries.  I'd run up to 4-9volt batteries.  Also used the other Stomper wannabe's manufacturer tires cause they were bigger with less lugs.

We would get together and have pulls.  A buddy and I both had pullin' tracks with dirt.  We'd wet it down and roll it with a piece of round steel stock.  I won my fair share of races.  I can't find either pulling sled and would like to get another to complete the set.  Tractor pulling was popular back in western Kansas.

I also have a bunch of Hot Wheels.  I used to wrap them in tissue and my friends would make fun of me.  Now they're all in immaculate condition.
