Hi guys,

I am wondering if any of you have pictures of where you mounted an MSD 6AL box.  I just bought one for my 73 and am looking for good ideas.  Thanks in advance.

Mine is mounted on the rear of the rad cradle between the cradle and the battery tray.  That way, it was somewhat hidden but by putting it in there vertically, I still have easy access to the rpm chip and I was able to somewhat hide the wiring as well.  Although I did have to do make up some of my own wire harnesses to keep it all out of sight.

on a third gen there is room on same Original Mopar module location

Thanks guys, I haven't read the directions yet but someone told me it should be in close proximity to the distributor and coil.  Is this true?  Sounds like that really doesn't matter.

I hadn't heard of that, but I can tell you that I didn't need to lengthen any of the wires that came with it  :Twocents:

Thanks Nacho! Very helpful.  Did he remove the ballast resistor?

471_Magnum

On my 71 GTX, I mounted the rev limiter behind the passenger side head lamps and in front of the rad support. There is a little separator panel there than made for a good mounting surface. It's relatively well hidden.

Not sure if the 3rd gen charger has the same amount of room though.

YES... ballast resistor was definitrelly removed and brown and blue wires spliced together to feed from there the MSD module.

I only had to add wires because I ran them along the drivers inner fender and across the firewall and then up the right side of the engine to keep it somewhat out of sight.  When I did a test run of the thing, I just ran the wires a little more out in the open and there was plenty of wire to do the trick, I just didn't like the way it looked.

Mine is mounted under the Battery tray on the inner fender. No one ever see's it.  ;)

73/74 doesn't have that option since battery try sits completely over inner fender and frame rail

Yep, I think I have decided to mount it on the firewall right where the orange box is mounted now.  Same as Nacho referred to.
