OK, so I got the call from the shop today that the mechanical work on the car is done.  A new JEGS Exhaust was put in.  New Front Disc Brake Conversion Kit was put in (w/Power Booster).  New Rear Drums, Pads, and Springs.  New Brake Lines throughout the car (all 4 tires).  New Master Cylinder.  New Gas tank.  A bent Tie Rod was replaced.  Etc Etc.  Long story short, the car has had a complete overhaul.  Thankfully the Engine & Transmission are sound and it roars like a lion!

The mechanic was having trouble getting the brakes to get a vacuum effect, so in short, the car wouldnt stop.  They replaced some $60 piece, and BAM, it worked!  The car is ready to pick up and bring home.  Now for the hard part.

We havent figured out where to bring it because it needs a lot of exterior work.  I mean like... a lot.  We just want it to be drivable and look decent, not competition quality.  We plan on doing cruise nights, but thats about it.  Anyone know anyone in the Long Island NY area that does decent work and doesnt try to kill you on the price?  It would be much appreciated.  Thanks for checking this out and thanks for any recommendations you may be able to pass on.

Good luck on the 71. Im building mine as we speak also. Car is rite now in the body shop and has been stripped and now bieng pieced together. im going for the same end result that you are looking for. my body shop is in astoria queens. he was recommended to me by a friend who has had cars worked on by him b4. its a slow process but itll be worthit.

My advice is look over the car and what ever u think u need replacing start ordering and hunting for used/new parts that are in better condition than yours.

i have some extra parts that i wont need so let me know if ya need anything.
